We focus on inclusive, diverse care and research.Role purpose: The Research Coordinator will coordinate research studies, drive innovation projects, and perform administrative duties for the Grover Lab and related programs (such as “Summer of Vibes” and the Research Institute Student Experience (RISE)). The position covers medical education, simulation, gastrointestinal endoscopy, and innovation projects, including AI and data-driven methods to improve teaching, learning, and clinical outcomes.ResponsibilitiesResearch/ Study ActivitiesReview study documents and understand procedures (protocols, operations manuals, lab manuals, data entry guidelines)Recruitment and screening activities and obtaining informed consentDocument retention numbers and factors affecting recruitment/retention; develop and execute plans with researchersMay act as primary contact for research participantsComplete review of medical records for participant data collectionConduct delegated study procedures/tasks (e.g., sample collection, processing, administering questionnaires/interventions) and document in sourceComplete Case Report Forms/data entry and perform data quality checksManage participant study filesResearch Related Administration & CoordinationExplore, track, and manage grants applications for Grover Lab/RI activitiesAssist with REB submissions and feasibility assessmentsAssist with grant processes, budgets, formsMaintain regulatory documents and research files/databasesPrepare datasets for analysesCommunicate with research staff and investigators regularlyCoordinate with education coordinators for learner-involved studiesMonitor study deadlines and prioritize tasksPrepare materials for proposals, progress reports, presentations, publicationsAssist in qualitative/quantitative data analysis and interpretationAssist with manuscript submission (tables/figures, proofreading, cover letters, coordination, signatures)Schedule and attend research meetings; prepare agendas/minutesMonitor progress and deadlines of research activitiesAssist in monitoring visits, audits, inspectionsOnboarding volunteer studentsManaging And Supporting Summer Program/VolunteersLead planning, recruitment, onboarding, and evaluation of students in the RISE ProgramSupervise day-to-day tasks for summer students/volunteers, aligning with research projectsSupport learners in data collection, literature reviews, and data annotation related to AI and simulation-based researchDevelop orientation materials, guidelines, and schedules for learnersCoordinate training, mentorship, and milestones with PI and staffMaintain volunteer/student records per SHNRI policiesPlan and execute RISE events (demo days)Social Media Management And Website UpkeepMaintain Grover Lab website with current projects, publications, and AI-driven outcomesCreate/manage content for lab social media to highlight findings, awards, and opportunitiesAlign content with institutional branding and policiesMonitor engagement and develop strategies for visibility and knowledge translationDesign promotional materials for events and recruitment campaignsOther DutiesPerform other duties and provide administrative support as assignedRequirementsUndergraduate degree in science and/or health-related fieldExcellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to convey complex informationProficiency in Microsoft OfficeFamiliarity with AI tools/websitesExperience in quantitative research methods (study design and basic statistics)Strong project management and problem-solving skillsOutstanding organizational, planning, and time management skillsProven ability to lead and collaborate effectivelyProficiency in managing multiple prioritiesPublic speaking and presentation skillsAttention to detailAbility to coordinate multiple tasks and meet deadlinesNice To HaveMaster’s degree in science and/or health-related fieldCertification in Clinical Research or Project ManagementThis opportunity is posted to support the recruitment of an existing vacant position.Accommodation And Diversity StatementScarborough Health Network (SHN) is an equal opportunity employer committed to diversity and inclusiveness.
