Apply today Whitewater’s People and Culture department is looking for a candidate to join us in the following role :Position : Inventory SpecialistStatus : Regular Full Time, hours a weekReports to : Production Planning LeadABOUT THE ROLE :The Inventory Supervisor is responsible for managing and organizing company’s inventory, ensure materials, products and supplies are properly accounted for, stored, and distributed.ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES :Ensure accurate replenishment and inventoryOversee accuracy of materials issuances by Stock RoomResolve inventory discrepancies. Monitor negative inventory on a weekly basis and reconcile discrepanciesMonthly physical inventory counts and review and analyze inventory discrepanciesEstablish Min / Max levels and review / update every six monthsDirect activities related to inventory usage : picking, packing and recording transactions in ERP systemAccountable for all inventory transactionsPut away Stock Room itemsCoordinate work orders with the Planning Team, print and provide the picking listsPrioritize kitting and kit assembly, monitor kit releases, audit kits to maintain traceability of backordersReview and report backorders for daily analysis for kitting; provide feedback to Senior Planner for customer commitment purposesUpdating and publishing metricsMaintain visual management in Stock Room including Work / Planning status white boardsWork with Planning, Procurement and Supply Chain to ensure that the inventory levels and turns for items in stockroom are optimizedAdhere to proper inventory procedures and materials management processes, including reconciliation of cycle counts and annual physical inventoryDevelop and implement continuous improvement projects and procedures to improve systems, processes, inventory accuracy and schedule supportControlling quality standards in stores by following Stores QC Procedure which involves spot checking the contents of a packaged box and compared to the pick list to check for errorsLead one continuous improvement project per yearBin management : part number labels, maintain Kanban replenishment, rotate old with newer stock, moving frequently issued parts to lower shelvesMaintaining Stores S housekeeping includes sweeping, emptying garbage cans, cleaning work areasResponsible for safety and ensuring best practices are followedOther duties as assignedQUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE :Minimum to years’ experience in a similar positionDemonstrated understanding of MRP, LEAN, KAIZEN inventory, and production principlesPrevious D experience is an assetPrevious exposure to Lean and S manufacturing practices.Understanding of Kanban and inventory systems.Post-Secondary school education in related field an asset.Forklift certification or experience an assetAble to lift a maximum of lbs. repetitivelyMust be able to work on both established shifts as requiredAvailable to work overtime hours as requiredMust be legally eligible to work in CanadaCOMPETENCIES / KNOW-HOW, SKILLS & ABILITIES :Ability to work and contribute to a team environment.Be willing and able to follow processes, procedures and / or instructionsSelf-motivated with the ability and stay on task with minimal supervision.Hands-on, role-up your sleeves, do whatever it takes to get the job done attitude.Ability to listen, communicate (written and oral) and collaborateAble to meet tight deadlines in a fast paced, creative, fun and positive environmentAbility to work independently and as a team, self-starter and energeticContinuous improvement of selfStrong organization and problem-solving skillsRespect for people with communication, consideration and cooperationAction oriented approach - if you don't know something, you seek to find it outExcellent at juggling multiple priorities and reprioritizing as neededStrong attention to detail and analytical skillsWillingness to contribute to a safe work environment by following all Company health and safety rules and policies.WHITEWATER COMPETENCIES :Accountability – We do what we sayCollaboration – We work well togetherCustomer Focus – We know and respond to our customersCommunication – We listen to and understand each otherAuthenticity – We are honest and trust each otherResilience – We deal effectively with pressure, are persistent and optimisticFlexibility & Adaptability – We are willing and able to respond to changing circumstancesCreate a job alert for this searchInventory Specialist • Delta, British Columbia #J-18808-Ljbffr
