By joining our global team, you can learn from renowned subject matter experts and develop a diverse career.Reporting to the Manager of Engineering the Senior Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for the delivery of accurate, professional and compliant design deliverables using Company approved systems and procedures.ResponsibilitiesConduct timely reviews of project mechanical drawings to achieve full compliance with design intentManage multiple tasks and prioritise to achieve deliverables with a high level of accuracy and professionalismPerform accurate engineering design and calculationsInterpret engineering drawings, documents, specifications and scopesIdentify scope variations and prepare relevant documentation accordinglyLiaise with and provide professional support to the drafting team in the preparation of drawing deliverablesDevelop technical documentation including scopes of work and specifications using relevant industry standards and guidelinesProduce accurate engineering lists including but not limited to equipment, lubrication, spares, valves, pipeline and special workProvide accurate material take-offs as requiredEvaluate tenders and provide technical recommendations for the purchase of mechanical equipment from vendors where necessaryReview vendor certified documentation and disseminate information to appropriate personnel for interface checkingAssist with the delivery of engineering documentation in relation to scope, quantities, cost and scheduleRegister and file all relevant engineering documentation in accordance with Company proceduresMaintain understanding of latest developments in industry and project-specific codes, standards and related engineering mattersCollaborate with internal and external stakeholders to meet project design criteria and deliverablesMentor engineers and support professional development within the teamProactively support other team members to ensure project deliverables are metTravel on an ad-hoc basis to suit business needsQualificationsUniversity Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent from a recognised institutionMinimum 8+ years post-graduate experience in Mineral Processing or Metallurgical plant designStrong written and verbal communication skillsAbility to build and sustain positive relationships with stakeholders, including clients, vendors and colleaguesAbility to work with people at all levels within an organisation and external providersExcellent organisational skills with ability to multitask and maintain high accuracySolid technical aptitude, analytical and problem-solving skillsAbility to work effectively with minimal supervision while delivering high-quality resultsPersonal integrity, credibility and commitment; ability to maintain confidentiality and discretionProvide mentoring and support professional developmentBenefitsInvest in our people for the long-term, building a diverse and rewarding career, mentored by the best in the industryFlexible work arrangements to balance work with family or study commitmentsCommitment to diversity and inclusion and equal opportunityAs part of our commitment to providing the best possible care and service to you, we commit to respond to every applicant.
