Senior Mechanical Engineer

Reporting to the Manager of Engineering the Senior Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for the delivery of accurate, professional and compliant design deliverables using Company approved systems and procedures. Responsibilities Conduct timely reviews of project mechanical drawings to achieve full compliance with design intent Manage multiple tasks and prioritise to achieve deliverables with a high level of accuracy and professionalism Perform accurate engineering design and calculations Interpret engineering drawings, documents, specifications and scopes Identify scope variations and prepare relevant documentation accordingly Liaise with and provide professional support to the drafting team in the preparation of drawing deliverables Develop technical documentation including scopes of work and specifications using relevant industry standards and guidelines Produce accurate engineering lists including but not limited to equipment, lubrication, spares, valves, pipeline and special work Provide accurate material take-offs as required Evaluate tenders and provide technical recommendations for the purchase of mechanical equipment from vendors where necessary Review vendor certified documentation and disseminate information to appropriate personnel for interface checking Assist with the delivery of engineering documentation in relation to scope, quantities, cost and schedule Register and file all relevant engineering documentation in accordance with Company procedures Maintain understanding of latest developments in industry and project-specific codes, standards and related engineering matters Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to meet project design criteria and deliverables Mentor engineers and support professional development within the team Proactively support other team members to ensure project deliverables are met Travel on an ad-hoc basis to suit business needs Qualifications University Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent from a recognised institution Minimum 8+ years post-graduate experience in Mineral Processing or Metallurgical plant design Strong written and verbal communication skills Ability to build and sustain positive relationships with stakeholders, including clients, vendors and colleagues Ability to work with people at all levels within an organisation and external providers Excellent organisational skills with ability to multitask and maintain high accuracy Solid technical aptitude, analytical and problem-solving skills Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision while delivering high-quality results Personal integrity, credibility and commitment; ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion Provide mentoring and support professional development Benefits Invest in our people for the long-term, building a diverse and rewarding career, mentored by the best in the industry Flexible work arrangements to balance work with family or study commitments Commitment to diversity and inclusion and equal opportunity As part of our commitment to providing the best possible care and service to you, we commit to respond to every applicant.
