In this role, you will contribute to business decisions by offering robust financial models, monitoring performance, and providing strategic analyses for a range of real estate development and intensification projects across asset classes such as retail, residential, industrial, and office. Based in Montréal, our Eastern Canada team is growing and involved in significant development projects across Québec, eastern Ontario, and the Maritimes. Responsibilities Build and maintain financial models and project plans to assess existing assets, new retail developments, mixed-use redevelopments, and self-storage projects. Contribute to the annual budgeting process and provide regular updates on project budgets, cash flow, and financial forecasts, presenting results to senior leadership with clarity and professionalism. Support intensification efforts for mixed-use and retail properties through financial analysis and scenario planning. Monitor and report on ongoing project financial performance and timelines, highlighting risks and variances to management. Reconcile and review partner financial data to ensure accurate costing and allocation of project costs. Collaborate with Planning, Construction, Leasing, Finance, and Property Management to ensure alignment across the development lifecycle. Assist in preparing materials for joint ventures, acquisitions, dispositions, and project financing. Evaluate potential tenants’ financials and creditworthiness to support leasing decisions. Stay informed on market trends and economic conditions affecting retail, mixed-use, and self-storage developments. Carry out other tasks related to the role as required. Education Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, commerce, or real estate development. CPA or CFA designation is considered an asset. Skills & Experience Minimum of 2 years of experience in financial analysis, real estate development, or related field. Direct experience modeling mixed-use or retail development projects is a strong asset. Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills (DCF, IRR, sensitivity analysis, etc.). Strong understanding of project budgeting, capital planning, and real estate valuation. Excellent communication skills in both English and French, with ability to work cross-functionally. Highly organized, analytical, and results-oriented. Ability to manage multiple projects and timelines with precision and attention to detail. Detail-driven finance professional with comfort in structuring complex projects. Passionate about the evolution of mixed-use environments and their role in the community. Team player with collaborative and accountable mindset.
