About the Role
To expand its FTTH (Fiber to the Home) business on a global scale, EXFO is seeking a Technical Solution Specialist. Reporting to the Director of FTTH Market Development, this role involves supporting our global sales teams in presenting and promoting our process automation test solutions, addressing customers' pain points throughout the network lifecycle. Given EXFO's substantial and worldwide market presence in optical and protocol test instruments for the FTTH market, this role is pivotal to the company as it seeks to seize new opportunities in business process automation involving our portable and centralized/remote test equipment. We are seeking a seasoned professional with experience in digital transformation initiatives for major enterprises, particularly those in the communication services sector. In this role, you will collaborate closely with account managers and technical salespeople to identify process automation opportunities. You will provide essential support to the overall solution selling process by liaising closely with product and solution managers.
Responsibilities
- From opportunity discovery by sales team, team up with sales manager and customer on their current FTTH lifecycle business processes, identify pain points impacting their business outcomes, and collaborate in a problem-solving approach how EXFO automation solution can address those.
- Create return-on-investment (ROI) analysis worksheets and tailor it with various stakeholders
- Propose and own the statement of work detailing the EXFO solution
- Support any demonstrations – solution demo, automation proof of concept, post-sales queries
- Work in close partnerships with Product Management and Services organization on proposing a clear and accurate Statement of Work – technical implementation, timelines, dependencies, assumptions,…
- Cultivate long-term relationships with customers to identify new business opportunities.
- Maximize the monetization of the solution by embarking the customer on a lifecycle journey with EXFO
Required Skills
Technical Skills
- Strong knowledge of telecommunications testing and measurement (fiber optics, mobile networks, protocols, etc.)
- Experience with network technologies and equipment (Ethernet, IP, 4G/5G, cloud, SDN/NFV, etc.)
- Understanding of service provider and operator environments
- Ability to conduct technical demonstrations and lab testing
- Proficiency in network performance analysis and troubleshooting tools
Project Management & Customer Relations
- Experience in pre-sales or technical customer support
- Ability to understand customer needs and propose tailored solutions
- Collaboration skills to work with sales, R&D, and marketing teams
- Strong time management and prioritization skills
- Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
Communication & Training Skills
- Ability to simplify complex technical concepts for different audiences
- Comfortable presenting technical solutions both in person and remotely
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and French
