As a student at PCL, you will get the opportunity for challenging work assignments in a supportive work environment which promotes personal and professional growth.We are seeking Surveying Students for our Toronto district, within our Canadian Buildings Division that are available for 4 month or 8 months starting May 2026.As a Surveying Student and depending on your assigned project, you will have the opportunity to contribute to our team by:ResponsibilitiesContributes to day-to-day layout and grading tasksHelps monitor quality control in compliance with contract documentsAssists in managing surveying for project layout and conformanceMarks and labels survey points and record field data according to job specificationsParticipates in creating and maintaining survey modelsUnderstands coordinate systems, scale factors, design requirements and engineered forming systemsAssists in creating survey notes and recording field dataQualificationsCandidates must have a strong desire to work in a construction environmentUnderstanding basic surveying principles with a practical approachFamiliar with construction plans such as structural, architectural and shop drawingsApplication of various computer software programs will be required, including word processing, spreadsheet applications and drafting (AutoCAD, Revit, etc.)Student must be in a recognized drafting, architectural, engineering or construction management programExperience with operating total stations and survey equipment/GPS for layout and as-built purposesNext StepPlease note that candidates who have been selected to move forward to the next stage of the recruitment process will receive an email to complete a short online video interviewThe estimated hourly range for this role is $21.37- $31.34, based on your experience and qualifications.
