The Accountant position at AECOM plays a crucial role in supporting the Accounting Manager in managing cash flows, conducting reconciliations, reviewing contracts, and preparing financial reports and statements in accordance with accounting standards and AECOM policies. This role requires strong accounting expertise, proven analytical skills, as well as proficiency in both written and spoken English and French.

The position is based in Markham l and is hybrid in nature, offering a combination of remote and in-person work.

Key Responsibilities:

Project management, monthly reconciliations, preparation of journal entries, and financial reports.

Ad hoc analysis and proposals for improving existing analyses.

Responsibility for project cash management.

Preparation of payments and tax reports.

Handling general accounting for small international operations.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in accounting.

Minimum of five years of accounting experience.

Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel (advanced level).

• Bilingual (French & English).

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with Oracle (or comparable ERP system).

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Solid organizational skills with attention to detail.

Motivation, attention to detail, and flexibility. Ability to work independently, exercise judgment, and manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a dynamic and high-pressure environment.

Ability to handle a high volume of transactions.
