VP Experience – Experience Victoria + Regent Transportation Overview Experience BC, the region's leader in tours and transportation, is seeking a seasoned Director of Finance to serve as a member of the Executive Team. This high-impact role will be responsible for defining and executing the organization's financial strategy, optimizing capital structure, managing financial risk, and leading all financial reporting and analysis to support aggressive regional expansion. The ideal candidate will be an experienced, forward-looking CPA with proven leadership in a multi‑entity or high-growth environment. Core Responsibilities Financial Leadership & Strategy: Define and execute the organization's long‑term financial strategy, including capital expenditure planning, strategic acquisitions analysis, and complex financial modeling for new business ventures. Executive Reporting: Oversee the preparation and presentation of consolidated financial statements to the Executive Team and Board. Translate complex financial performance into actionable business intelligence for non‑financial stakeholders. Budgeting, Forecasting & Analysis: Lead the annual budgeting cycle, continuous rolling forecasts, and variance analysis. Drive financial accountability for performance across all departmental leaders. Risk Management & Controls: Develop, implement, and monitor robust internal controls, financial policies, and risk management frameworks (e.g., debt covenants, foreign exchange exposure). Treasury & Capital Management: Manage banking relationships, debt financing, cash flow optimization, and support the negotiation of financial agreements. Data Management: Handle all aspects of day‑to‑day accounting including payroll, bookkeeping, AR/AP and other data tasks. The opportunity for this role is to build a secure cashflow and financial management system leading to adding team members to perform these functions in the future. Compliance & Audit: Ensure tax, statutory, and financial compliance (IFRS/GAAP) is met. Direct the annual audit process and manage relationships with external auditors and legal counsel. Qualifications & Experience Mandatory: Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA/CA) designation. Experience: Minimum of 5+ years of progressive experience in senior financial leadership roles (Director of Finance, VP Finance, or Senior Controller) with a focus on strategic planning. Industry: Proven background in the Tourism, Hospitality, or Service industry is highly preferred. Technical Acumen: Advanced proficiency with enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, etc.) and deep expertise in advanced financial modeling, BI tools, and data analysis. Leadership Skills: Demonstrated ability to engage an executive team at a high level and participate in strategic planning, eventually should be able to lead and mentor an accounting team, influence executive decision‑making, and drive company‑wide financial discipline.
