Richmond Hospital Department of Psychiatry is currently seeking a psychiatrist to join in a Permanent position to fill two part-time positions in hospital. Position to start immediately.
The Richmond Hospital Psychiatry Consult Liaison Program (0.2 FTE position) is based at Richmond Hospital and provides consultation and short-term management of general mental health conditions. The majority of referrals are from physicians admitting patients on medical/surgical wards. The Consult Liaison Program Psychiatrist provides psychiatric assessment and treatment to patients admitted in medical and surgical wards, and would liaise and collaborate with the primary care team for integrated patient care. Supervision for medical students and psychiatry residents may also be required.
The Richmond Rapid Access Consult Clinic (0.3 FTE Position) is based in Richmond Hospital, providing rapid consult services for referrals from the Emergency Department and Family Physicians in the community for patients requiring urgent consult and counselling services.
The Richmond Hospital In-Patient Service (0.5 FTE position) is based at Richmond Hospital and specifically provides services to admitted in-patients in hospital. The Psychiatrist would provide psychiatric assessment and treatment to patients admitted in medical and surgical wards, do consultations in the Emergency Department, and would liaise and collaborate with the primary care team for integrated patient care.
Richmond Hospital is a fully accredited, 228 acute care bed facility serving a local population of 200,000 with an additional catchment area of almost 120,000. Richmond Hospital is focused on meeting the needs of the people it serves and is seeking a Psychiatrist to provide services to an adult population in a team-based model.
QualificationsEducation, Licensing, & Experience:
- Current College of Physicians of BC (CPSBC) - Full
- Canadian College of Family Practitioners (CCFP) – Eligible
- Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA) – Mandatory
- Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of Canada (FRCPC) – Desired
