Job Summary:

Vancouver Coastal Health is seeking a skilled Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist to join our team. As a member of our interdisciplinary team, you will provide comprehensive psychiatric assessments and treatments to children and youth under 19 years of age who have presented to the emergency department or inpatient units in psychiatric crisis.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide innovative, evidence-based, and comprehensive psychiatric assessments and treatments to children and youth under 19 years of age.
  • Work collaboratively with the emergency department and inpatient units to provide urgent crisis-based psychiatric care and bridging to community-based resources.
  • Develop and implement treatment plans that address the unique needs of each child and family.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including nurses, social workers, and youth outreach workers, to provide comprehensive care.
  • Participate in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of new programs and services.
Qualifications:
  • Current College of Physicians and Surgeons of British Columbia (CPSBC) license.
  • Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA) membership.
  • Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (FRCPC).
  • Completed two full years of training in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.
