How you will contribute

You will:

  • Assist and lead the cultural transformation regarding HSE to help lead plant to achieve Zero accidents and Incidents
  • Be responsible for coordinating and overseeing implementation of all Health & Safety programs and processes
  • Participate in investigations to facilitate closure of identified non-conformances
  • Provide Health and Safety expertise for the plant for all new projects and change management activities
  • Follow up on non-conformances and develops the systems to resolve them based on root cause analysis
  • Maintain an up-to-date incident reporting system, assist with investigating incidents in conjunction with the HSE Pillarteam/safety committee and drive the completion of corrective actions to eliminate root causes/reoccurrence
  • Develop technical guidance programs to identify and remove physical hazards`

  • Must have completed Environmental Health and Safety training in areas such as OSHA, EPA, DNREC
  • Experience in safety, and/or environmental technical standards

  • Understanding and knowledge of regulatory reports and compliances including experience with ISO

Responsibilities:

  • Support improvement in HSE results and processes resulting in reduction of injuries, and the identification of hazards in the workplace.
  • Participate in and/or provide information to others conducting HSE inspections, HSE audits, and incident investigations
  • Assist in coordinating HSE compliance activities through functional teams
  • Develop HSE communication materials for the plant
  • Be responsible for coordinating and supporting implementation of all Health & Safety programs and processes
  • Schedule and participate in HSE meetings (JHSC, standard governance, HSE pillar, etc.) and follow up on actions to completion.
  • Develop and coordinate HSE training programs
  • Create Purchase Orders and other administrative tasks as required
  • Maintain and support an organization which embraces a commitment to safety and environmental excellence, support concepts of best practice, continuous improvement, and teamwork

Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary education in Health and Safety, Environmental or Engineering
  • Minimum 1-2 years of health, safety environmental experience preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and ability to work with individuals at all levels
  • Strong multi-tasking and time management skills to meet deadlines
  • Computer proficiencyin Microsoft Office and other software programs.
  • Ability to work independently and as a team
  • Day shift with the ability to support 24-7 operations as required.
