Job Details The General Manager oversees all hotel operations, ensuring exceptional guest experiences, strong financial performance, and full compliance with Marriott brand standards. The GM leads all departments, including Front Office, Housekeeping, Maintenance, Sales & Marketing, and is responsible for staffing, culture, community engagement, and operational excellence. Key Responsibilities Operational Leadership Full responsibility for all hotel operations across departments. Establish daily priorities and ensure smooth functioning of Front Desk, Housekeeping, Maintenance, and Administration. Maintain Marriott brand standards and ensure consistent delivery of high‑quality guest experiences. People & Culture Management Recruit, train, mentor, and support all associates. Conduct ongoing performance reviews and ensure adherence to policies and procedures. Build open, collaborative relationships with team members, partner GMs, and ownership. Foster a positive, people‑centered culture aligned with Bawa Group values. Financial & Revenue Management Manage occupancy, ADR, RevPAR, wages, and controllable expenses effectively. Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and cost‑control strategies. Support and execute sales and marketing initiatives to drive revenue growth. Guest Experience Excellence Ensure guest satisfaction scores meet or exceed Marriott benchmarks. Respond to guest needs with professionalism and authenticity. Lead service recovery efforts and maintain a strong presence in guest‑facing areas. Compliance & Standards Ensure compliance with Federal & Provincial labour laws. Maintain safety, security, and cleanliness standards. Uphold all Marriott brand, audit, and operational requirements. Community & Brand Engagement Represent the hotel in the Brantford community. Support local partnerships, events, and brand‑building initiatives. Required Skills & Qualifications Proven leadership experience in hotel operations (GM or senior manager level). Strong communication, coaching, and team‑building skills. Knowledge of sales, marketing, and revenue management principles. Ability to manage budgets, forecasting, and financial performance. Strong customer service orientation and problem‑solving skills. Experience with Marriott systems (preferred). Bachelor’s degree in hospitality or business (preferred but not required).
