Located in Calgary, AB, FERO is committed to delivering high-quality products and exceptional technical support to architects, engineers, and contractors.Role DescriptionWe are seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused Intermediate CAD Drafter to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing drawings from conceptual details to working layouts for a variety of structural and architectural projects. If you have a strong background in architectural and/or structural design and drafting and thrive in a fast-paced environment, we’d love to hear from youKey ResponsibilitiesDevelop, implement, and maintain company standards for AutoCAD drawings using best practices.Prepare and set up AutoCAD drawings according to company standards.Create engineering drawings from sketches, mark-ups, and design concepts.Analyze architectural and engineering plans to determine optimal design factors, including clearances, tolerances, locations, angles, and layouts.Incorporate various components into designs and ensure consistency across all design documents.Collaborate with engineers and clients to understand and meet project requirements.Manage revisions and resolve comments on submitted drawings through clear communication with clients and internal teams.Stay up to date with relevant building codes and bylaws.Complete material take-offs from engineering drawings.Work independently and manage your workload while collaborating with a professional team.Continuously seek ways to improve efficiency and automate processes.Qualifications and ExperienceDegree or Diploma in Computer-Aided Design (CAD) or a related field.Minimum 5 years of drafting experience with a focus on structural or architectural designs for commercial buildings.Proficiency in AutoCAD and other CAD software.Autodesk Inventor knowledge would be considered an assetStrong working knowledge of Bluebeam, Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Ability to work efficiently under pressure and meet tight deadlines.Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.High attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.We offerCompetitive salary – based on experience.Family-friendly work environment with work-life balance.Ongoing support for professional development and career growth.RRSP matching program to help you build your future.This is an exciting opportunity to work with a forward-thinking company that values innovation and technical excellence.
