For its cabinetry unit, AB Cushing Mills Ltd. is looking for a CAD Drafter to create, modify, and release drawings and production data requirements. The CAD Drafter will prepare data for CNC machinery, production personnel, and material requirements to various specifications using Microvellum and other tools (AUTOCAD, MV TOOLBOX, MAESTRO SUITE). The CAD Drafter will support production manufacturing and other departments to ensure seamless transfer of information and support of standards and processes.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Uses AutoCAD and Microvellum to create submittal drawings, modify redlines, and release orders to manufacturing.
- Inputs and manages data according to processes and procedures.
- Collaborates with the Operations Manager, Estimator, and Designer to ensure proper execution and transfer of information.
- Collaborates with Estimating and Project management for new project hand-offs.
- Performs Material take-offs and works with Procurement and other related departments to ensure accurate and timely release of material demand and manages timeliness of receipt of materials to manufacturing and project schedule.
- Releases manufacturing data and machine code to production. Works with Manufacturing to troubleshoot, resolve and streamline data and processes.
- Produces as-built drawings and other related documents for close-out of projects.
- Designs and streamlines construction methods to bring efficiencies and increased quality to manufacturing and overall process using design for Manufacturing.
- Creates and maintains drawings, materials, and related files in Microvellum and other systems.
- Ensures accuracy of all information and drawings produced.
- Ensures deadlines are met or exceeded consistently.
- Communicates challenges, opportunities, or issues on a timely basis with the team and management.
- Assists other functions within the department as required.
- Other related duties as assigned.
KEY SKILLS
AutoCAD Proficiency.
Microvellum Toolbox will be a real asset.
Microsoft Office Proficiency.
Manufacturing Engineering Knowledge - Experience in the manufacturing of cabinetry & millwork within primary area of Educational Facilities preferred.
The Ability to Independently Exercise Business Judgment as to Important Tasks, while always Considering the Customers’ and Company’s Best Interests.
Strong Problem-Solving Skills, Decision Making, & Sound Business Judgment.
The Ability to Prioritize Tasks Among and Between Projects and Communicate those Priorities.
Quality Management & Delivering to Customer Requirements.

Pay: $25.00-$32.00 per hour
