CDE Engineering Ltd. is a privately owned Calgary-based full-service engineering firm. We specialize in providing engineering procurement and construction management services for Canada's energy sector, focusing on the upstream and midstream segments of the oil and gas industry.

Role Description:

Intermediate Drafter/Designer will contribute significantly to the development and success of projects, combining technical expertise with leadership skills to ensure the accuracy and efficiency of designs. Collaborative teamwork and effective communication with clients, various disciplines, vendors, and contractors are indispensable attributes for success.

Reports to:

  • Project Design Leads
  • Drafting Managers

Main Responsibilities:

  • Prepare deliverables including layouts, lists, and conceptual designs in compliance with applicable codes and project specifications
  • Prepare design drawings and associated MTOs
  • Prepare single-line diagrams, schematics, and wiring diagrams using AutoCAD software
  • Prepare load lists and equipment lists
  • Creating a 3-D Model of infrastructure such as trays, JBs, etc. would be considered an asset
  • Check drawings and other deliverables
  • Perform squad check of drawings from other disciplines
  • Interface with other design disciplines
  • Review vendor drawings and update designs accordingly
  • Assist junior drafters/designers as required

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of two-year technical diploma
  • Minimum five years experience in a Design / Drafting position
  • Previous experience in AutoCAD, CADworx, Plant3D and Navis
  • Enthusiasm, self-motivation, and the ability to work independently
  • Possess good written and oral communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a diverse team
  • Be able to multi-task between several areas within a project
  • Ability to attend to detail and work in a time-effective manner

Pay: $30.00-$44.00 per hour
