Join our Providence Healthcare team as we work to put patients and families at the centre of everything we do, in the role of Occupational Therapist on our Stroke and Neuro Rehabilitation program.Duties & ResponsibilitiesWorks effectively as a member of an interprofessional team, collaborating with other disciplines to provide comprehensive patient careContributes to the academic mandate of the organization as an educator, resource or support for staff and members of the academic and professional communityIdentifies and addresses educational needs for patients and their familiesDemonstrates commitment to ongoing professional development in order to continue to provide optimal patient careIs committed to and participates in ongoing quality improvement and/or research in the organizationProvides patient care in accordance with all professional and organizational standardsIs committed to providing anti oppressive and accessible care for all patientsQualificationsMust be currently licensed by and in good standing with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario for practice in all applicable clinical areasMust hold a Master’s Degree (or substantial equivalent) in Occupational TherapyCurrent BLS (or willingness to complete within probationary period)As required by the program, must be Montreal Cognitive Assessment (MoCA) certified (or willing to certify prior to the end of the probationary period)Experience in stroke and neuro rehabilitation is preferredExcellent communication, critical thinking and interpersonal skillsProven flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environmentExcellent time management, organizational and prioritization skills as relates to patient careDemonstrated advocacy, commitment to and involvement with profession preferred (e.g. involvement with professional association, representation on relevant committees)Potential candidates who do not meet all preferred qualifications are still encouraged to apply.Unity Health Toronto is committed to creating an accessible and inclusive organization.
