POSITION SUMMARY Through the Social Planning and Research Council of Hamilton (SPRC Hamilton), Tastebuds, Hamilton’s Student Nutrition Collaborative, the Community Development Worker is responsible for providing support to a caseload of student nutrition programs, assisting with menu development (ensuring adherence to Ministry of Child and Youth Services Nutrition Guidelines), volunteer recruitment, fundraising, reporting, budgeting, and social media promotion. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Assist student nutrition programs with menu development (ensuring adherence to Ministry of Child and Youth Services Nutrition Guidelines), volunteer recruitment, fundraising, reporting, and budgeting. Attend to the needs of program volunteers with training opportunities related to programming. Attend necessary training sessions and workshops. Be an ambassador for student nutrition programs, presenting to school and community groups as required. Any other related duties as assigned. SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (written and oral). Strong organizational skills. Experience working with volunteers. Demonstrated ability to work independently, meeting monthly reporting timelines. Strong computer skills (i.e., Microsoft Office Suite, Canva, etc.). Must be well‑versed in Excel. Ability to work with individuals and groups from diverse communities and sectors. Access to a vehicle with a valid driver’s license and vehicle insurance (regular travel in the local area is required). Post‑secondary education or equivalent. Safe food handling certificate. Knowledge of Student Nutrition Program operations and impacts would be an asset. French language skills would be an asset. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Must be able to lift 25 lbs. Must be able to do computer work for significant periods of time.
