Our client is actively searching for an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to assume a key leadership role in Corporate and Fund Accounting. In this pivotal position, you will be instrumental in overseeing and executing diverse financial functions, ensuring precision, compliance, and optimal performance.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the full-cycle reporting and consolidation of audited annual ASPE and IFRS Financial Statements
  • Manage corporate consolidated financial statements, demonstrating a keen eye for detail and commitment to compliance.
  • Execute treasury, AR, AP, and cash management activities
  • Oversee the execution of unitholder distributions, demonstrating expertise in waterfall structures and disbursement processes.
  • Play a key role in the migration of external GLs with auditor signoff, implementing controls/consolidation, and ensuring a seamless transition.
  • Provide hands-on reporting and operational oversight for funds, encompassing diverse investments.
  • Conduct detailed research and produce internal memos on IFRS and ASPE reporting standards, including impairment and fair value analysis.
  • Take charge of monthly reporting and striking of NAV for a complex consolidated REIT entity.
  • Collaborate with the head of research and external valuation consultants to refine fair value models across the real estate portfolio.
  • Proactively contribute to negotiating preferred spot and swap rates with the main financial institution, showcasing financial acumen and cost-saving initiatives.
  • Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, providing guidance and support as a senior member of the accounting department.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA designation is preferred.
  • Significant experience in corporate and fund accounting, demonstrating a strong track record of financial oversight and process optimization.
  • Thorough knowledge of ASPE and IFRS reporting standards.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to mentor and guide junior team members.
