Job Title: Chief Financial Officer (CFO)


Location: Onsite – Ottawa, Ontario


Reports To: Company President

Position Overview: We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Chief Financial Officer (CFO) with a proven track record in both e-commerce and retail. The ideal candidate will possess extensive financial management experience, strategic acumen, and a hands-on approach to leadership. This role demands a deep understanding of the unique challenges and opportunities within the online retail sector, including financial planning, accounting, budgeting, and risk management.


Key Responsibilities:


Strategic Financial Leadership

  • Develop and implement financial strategies to support AutoShack’s retail expansion and online sales growth.
  • Oversee financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and analysis to achieve profitability targets and support business objectives.
  • Provide guidance on mergers, acquisitions, and business development opportunities, ensuring alignment with the company’s strategic goals.


Retail and E-Commerce Expansion

  • Lead financial strategies for opening and managing up to 50 new retail locations, including site selection, cost analysis, and ROI evaluations.
  • Partner with operational teams to optimize retail operations, ensuring financial sustainability.
  • Drive growth in the online B2C sales division, focusing on customer experience, operational efficiency, and profitability.


Capital Management and Fundraising

  • Manage capital structure, including securing debt and equity financing to fund expansion initiatives.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with investors, banks, and financial institutions.
  • Ensure optimal utilization of financial resources to achieve long-term growth objectives.


Financial Reporting and Compliance

  • Oversee the preparation and presentation of accurate and timely financial statements and reports in compliance with GAAP and other regulatory standards.
  • Ensure compliance with tax regulations, audit requirements, and financial reporting standards.
  • Lead internal and external audits to maintain accountability and transparency.


Operational Finance and Systems

  • Oversee day-to-day financial operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and financial controls.
  • Develop and implement financial policies, procedures, and internal controls to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Evaluate and optimize budgeting processes to align with financial targets and company goals.


Leadership and Team Management

  • Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing finance team, fostering a culture of excellence and accountability.
  • Collaborate with the executive team to drive overall business performance and strategic decision-making.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to the Company President on financial matters, providing insights to support long-term growth.


Qualifications:

Education:


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field;
  • CPA or Counterpart


Experience:

  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive financial leadership experience, with at least 5 years in a CFO or equivalent role.
  • Extensive experience in both e-commerce and retail is essential.
  • Proven track record of leading financial strategies for significant business growth and expansion.


Skills:

  • Strong strategic thinking and analytical skills.
  • Exceptional leadership and team management abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of financial regulations and compliance standards.
  • Proficiency in financial management software and advanced Excel skills.
