We are looking for an Associate Scientist to join our Pharmaceutical Development team within Process Development at AbCellera. You will contribute to a wide range of internal and external pharmaceutical development activities, from formulation development to technical transfer and submission support. You will support the establishment of internal drug product development capabilities for monoclonal antibody formulations, and create workflows with appropriate documentation to successfully execute fill‑finish operations. How You Might Spend Your Days Participating in designing and executing scientific and technical wet lab activities related to drug product development for liquid biologic formulations Analyzing and interpreting experimental data and effectively communicating to cross‑functional teams and stakeholders generated results Contributing to technical and regulatory documentation writing to support formulation development (liquid and lyophilized), process optimization, and technology transfer activities (both to internal GMP facility and external CDMOs) Seeking out novel formulation strategies, technologies, or delivery approaches to enhance drug product performance and manufacturability Carrying out clinical in‑use studies to inform administration methods and ensure compatibility with delivery systems Generating high‑quality, reproducible data by applying robust scientific principles, in addition to preparing detailed technical reports, formulation summaries, and presentation materials Communicating technical results clearly and effectively to diverse audiences We'd love to hear from you if You have proven experience in formulation and drug product development, particularly for biologics You have the equivalent of 2+ years of industry experience, in addition to a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree You have a good understanding of scientific strategies for developing protein‑based drug products and scientific expertise in protein formulation, stability, and biophysical characterization, with knowledge of the formulation of liquid or lyophilized drug products You have hands‑on experience with analytical techniques for characterizing biopharmaceuticals (e.g., liquid chromatography, capillary electrophoresis, and/or spectroscopy‑based methods) You are proficient with electronic lab notebooks (e.g., Benchling), and familiar with 21 CFR Part 11 compliance requirements You have strong organizational, data management, and time management skills, with excellent attention to detail You have knowledge of regulatory submission requirements, including INDs, BLAs, and CTAs (a strong asset) What We Offer AbCellera’s hiring range for this role is CAD $60,000 - $75,300 annually, commensurate with your education and job‑related knowledge, skills, and experience. In addition to base salary, we offer equity, annual bonus dependent on team and company performance, and a 6% (non‑match) RRSP contribution. You will have a CAD $1,500 annual Active Lifestyle Allowance, annual vacation, professional development opportunities, and comprehensive health benefits.
