Family Practitioner/General Practitioner

OverviewOne full-time or 2 part-time physicians required as soon as possible to take over a well-established family practice with a panel of approx. 1,500 in a bright, newly-renovated building with low overhead. The current physician is actively moving toward retirement and is happy to stay on during the transition time. This is an opportunity to form a group practice with co-located physicians and to work with a group of local physicians who cover each other during vacations. The clinic uses MedAccess EMR and plans to bring in a nurse in practice to round out the team.West Coast General Hospital is located 5 minutes away. There are options to participate in obstetrics, anesthesia, ER, hospitalist, long-term care, palliative care, and more, as well as access to many allied services. There are opportunities to diversify your practice with the Rural Subsidiary Agreement (RSA) and related programs, including visiting rural/remote communities, Immigration medicals, infant circumcision procedures, and vasectomies (in our building).ResponsibilitiesDevelop and manage a patient panel within a well-established family practice setting. Collaborate with co-located physicians and support staff, including a Medical Office Assistant team (MOAs). Practice in a modern clinic environment and participate in additional services offered by West Coast General Hospital and allied services where applicable.QualificationsPhysicians eligible to practice in British Columbia; experience in family medicine preferred. Willingness to participate in a broad range of services and to work within a team-based, clinic-outreach model.
