As part of its continued growth, Fengate is seeking a skilled Vice President of Investments & Capital Formation to join the team in a fundraising role. The successful candidate will be a self-motivated individual with experience raising capital in private markets and ideally, has existing Canadian institutional investor relationships in the real estate space. The successful candidate will adapt quickly to a demanding, high growth environment which is team-oriented and collaborative.The Vice President, Investments and Capital Formation will collaborate closely with the Fengate ELT, investments professionals, and the asset management team to ensure aligned messaging, informed investor engagement, and proactive support across all capital formation activities with a primary focus on Canadian pension plans, endowments, family offices/ HNW among other institutional constituencies.KEY RESPONSIBILITIESCultivate and strengthen investor relationships: Form, maintain, and enhance high quality relationships with prospective investors, ensuring consistent, professional engagement that advances long term partnership potential.Lead capital raising activities: Execute fundraising initiatives across all funds and strategies—including co investment opportunities—effectively positioning Fengate’s platforms to secure commitments from institutional investors.Conduct targeted investor research: Systematically evaluate prospective investors, assessing alignment with Fengate’s strategies and informing tailored outreach and engagement plans.Drive ongoing investor communication: Communicate regularly with prospective investors, providing clear, compelling messaging regarding Fengate’s offerings and ensuring the firm’s value proposition is consistently reinforced.Enhance market visibility: Elevate Fengate’s profile across the institutional investor community through proactive outreach, industry engagement, and strategic relationship building designed to attract capital and broaden market reach.Develop high quality fundraising materials: Contribute to the creation of investor presentations, roadshow materials, and follow up documents that effectively articulate fund strategies, performance, and differentiators.Coordinate and execute roadshows: Plan and manage logistics for roadshows, investor meetings, and outreach campaigns, including travel to major Canadian cities as required to support capital raising objectives.Maintain robust investor tracking: Oversee accurate documentation of investor interactions, maintaining a comprehensive and current database to support pipeline management and strategic follow up.Ensure meeting preparedness: Confirm all investor meetings, coordinate agendas, and ensure materials are prepared and distributed in advance to facilitate efficient, well informed discussions.Manage due diligence and site visits: Organize and oversee investor due diligence sessions and property or site visits, ensuring a seamless, professional experience that reflects the firm’s standards of excellence.Synthesize and relay investor feedback: Gather, assess, and communicate investor insights following meetings and diligence activities to inform ongoing relationship strategy and internal decision making.Support broader platform initiatives: Contribute to additional responsibilities that align with the scope and purpose of the role, supporting the continued growth and evolution of the capital formation function.PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE / QUALIFICATIONSThe successful candidate will be a self-starter that enjoys working in and fast-paced yet collegial environment, has a strong commitment to deadlines and the team, is process oriented with a high sense of ownership in their work, and possesses a high degree of intellectual curiosity.The ideal candidate will bring the following experience:7-10 years minimum experience in investments, investor relations or a similar capital-raising capacityDirect experience working with Canadian institutional investors, ideally with real estate fund investors; fund raising experience within broader alternatives and private markets strategies will also be consideredWhile Canadian L.P. relationships is preferred, exposure to international investors will be considered an assetExcellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present ideas both clearly and effectively (competency in PowerPoint, Word, and Excel)Self-motivated and the ability to take a proactive approach with a high degree of intellectual curiosityCapable of building high trust relationships with both internal and external stakeholders and work in a collaborative mannerDemonstrated ability to prioritize manage competing deliverablesStrong analytical and quantitative skillsUnderstanding of global financial markets, investment industry, portfolio construction principles and asset allocation approachesAbility to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, building consensus, communicating effectively, and contributing to a positive, growth-oriented work culture.Results oriented with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and responsibilities, maintaining attention to detail.KEY COMPETENCIESIntegrity: Adheres to the highest standards of personal and professional integrityDriven to win: Competitive drive to be number one and settle for nothing short.
