Investment Banking Vice President

In this role, you will use your interest in and knowledge of capital markets and metals & mining (or both), and your skills and your experience to have a positive impact on your team and on your clients. You will be expected to provide a broad range of analytical, research and presentation preparation support. As a Vice President / Associate, you will be assigned to a variety of transactions and advisory projects including mergers and acquisitions, equity and debt financings and strategic advisory projects. The role of the Vice President / Associate is challenging and fast paced. It requires dedication, a passion for excellence, a love of detail, and an exceptional work ethic. **Your Job** You will play a lead role in the execution of mining transactions, including acting as a central point of contact for the deal team through to the completion of a transaction. You will conduct deal related due diligence activities and take the lead in developing presentation materials. You will work with outside deal team members including legal, accounting, audit, consulting and others. You will be responsible for the overall information and communication flow on deal teams. You will conduct a variety of industry and company research and analyses, and assist in the preparation of written documents including business development proposals and company information documents for marketing purposes. You will take advantage of in-depth technical and industry knowledge to generate ideas and opportunities that you will discuss with your Managing Directors and Relationship Managers. You will assist in managing and training a team of junior banking professionals. **Qualifications** - Undergraduate or graduate university degree in mining, engineering, geology, economics, finance, business, accounting or a related field - If coming from a corporate finance background: Minimum 6-8 years (Vice President) or 4-6 years (Associate) of experience in investment banking, private equity, venture capital, hedge fund or accounting (corporate finance transaction department) - If coming from a mining industry background: Minimum 6-8 years (Vice President) or 4-6 years (Associate) of industry experience with a mining company - Direct work experience in the mining industry is an asset - Strong analytical skills - Significant transaction execution and project management experience - Demonstrated problem-solving mindset, collaborative approach and great team spirit - Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build trusted relationships - Excellent verbal and written communication skills - Ability to work effectively with a team and take ownership of a project - "Get it done" attitude and strong work ethic **Role-Specific Responsibilities** Vice President: - Lead transaction execution and act as primary day-to-day contact with clients - Oversee due diligence processes and manage third-party advisors - Review and guide financial models, presentations, and marketing materials - Mentor and develop junior team members - Support senior bankers in business development and strategic client engagement Associate: - Support all aspects of transaction execution, including financial modeling and due diligence - Prepare marketing materials and client presentations - Conduct industry research and valuation analysis - Assist with client communications and project coordination - Collaborate with senior bankers and contribute to pitch development **Next Steps** Please provide your CV, cover letter and deal sheet (if coming from a corporate finance background).
