Job Description The SLFD Payroll Associate will be responsible for providing a complete range of compensation and payroll services for the Sun Life Financial Distribution (SFLD) Advisors. What will you do? Verification and validation of transactions processed by other teams within Distribution Compensation Handle manual calculation and adjustment of commissions and bonuses as required Update M2 and/or EIM system for manual commission calculations, error corrections and adjustments Handle pay related health checks and audits Respond to payroll related inquiries from advisors, managers as well as other individuals and teams within head office including external business partners Administer tax demands and garnishments by calculating and processing required transactions Administer tax deductions for the SLFD Advisors and remittance of tax installments to CRA Processing of special pay deposits for missed commissions when appropriate Investigate and resolve errors, variances or accounting discrepancies Investigate unprocessed activities/system messages on a daily basis and take appropriate action, as per established procedures. All necessary adjustments must be done within the established time frames to meet payroll deadlines Monitor and investigate the collection of the advisor debt balances What do you need to succeed? Advanced accounting and mathematical skills Proficient working knowledge of CSW, Windows, Microsoft Office, Lotus Notes Strong and proficient knowledge of Excel Proficient knowledge of Sun Life’s retail products Proficient level understanding of advisor/manager/distribution company agreements Advanced analytical and problem‑solving skills Outstanding communication skills – written and verbal Energetic, enthusiastic and able to interact professionally with people at all levels of the company and externally A positive attitude with a commitment to high quality service Proficient organization and time‑management skills, ability to establish priorities and multi‑task Proficient conflict resolution skills Excellent team player and client service focused Able to work overtime during peak payroll times, frames and deadlines Assets Bilingualism (English, French) Knowledge of M2 and EIM systems Knowledge of block of business rules and processes by distribution company Knowledge of compensation rules, systems and processes for SLFD Advisors What’s in it for you?
