The Position
As a strategic business partner, provides advisory and consultative support to business leaders. Responsible for delivering meaningful Human Resources insight and supports business strategy by executing on general human resources programs including talent and engagement programs. Providing coaching to managers and employees. Serves as a valued advisor to clients by anticipating needs and developing HR solutions that align with business strategies and outcomes. This is a 12 month contract with the potential to be permanent.

Job Responsibilities:
• Acts as a tactical business partner in support of organizational leaders in setting and achieving their business and people strategic goals to model, shape and assess an organizational culture that supports the achievement of business objectives.

• Provides employee relations advice and guidance to managers/employees to determine appropriate courses of action in complex employee/employer or employee/employee interactions by leveraging organizational policies, procedures and labor legislation; anticipating potential implications of these interactions so to mitigate business risk.

• Investigates workplace claims that may involve harassment, workplace violence or suspect/ fraudulent employee activity.

• Partners with key stakeholders to assess employee performance, develop career paths and provide development resources that build the internal talent pipeline; this includes “focused” IDP with HIPOs while aligning with global talent programs.

• Engage business leaders in outside the box thinking on both leadership and talent pool recommendations to ensure that there is a strong correlation with recommended employee capabilities and NNCI desired competencies for future leadership roles and behaviors.

• Conducts manager and employee training and communicates key processes developed by P&O COE’s to ensure local relevance, engagement and understanding by managing key communications such as merit increase, performance management among some P&O disciplines.

• Accountable for workforce management to inform future work needs, this includes headcount management and working in liaison with the Director, People & Organization, to ensure that business units have the workforce and capabilities required to achieve business goals; implement succession plans that align with future workforce plans and business strategy; and development performance improvement or termination strategies.

• Coaches managers and acts as a sounding board for various Human Resources related issues such as performance improvement and/or employee relations matters; identifying gaps and recommending and implementing plans that address the optimization of resources;

• Facilitate change management activities within the organization by working with leaders and employees to facilitate understanding of P&O Programs and upcoming changes following the P&O Transformation;

• Responsible for organizational development while championing the NN Way and company culture; this includes the onboarding experience for new and existing employees;

• Oversees the NovoHealth (Health and Safety, Financial Wellness, Physical Wellness and Mental Wellness) program initiatives so as to deliver value and engage the workforce.

Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in a related area
• Human Resources Designation is preferred
• 5+ years of relevant HR experience
• 3+ years of partnering with business leaders in matters related to employee performance improvement, performance, and general HR matters
• Strong conflict resolution skills and the ability to negotiate and influence others in stressful and sensitive situations
• Familiar with investigations, trained/certified to conduct investigations and employment law practices
