What You’ll Accomplish Collaborate with the GVA Aggregate Management Team and the Health & Safety Team to implement and drive ongoing improvement of health, safety, and loss control systems and processes. Identify program, system, and training needs that align with the requirements of the Health and Safety Management System (HSMS). Design and deliver safety-related training modules, including site-specific materials such as orientations and toolbox talks. Support the rollout of safety communications and initiatives that reinforce HSMS principles and engage employees at all levels. Maintain a consistent onsite presence to provide real-time coaching and mentoring to front-line employees and leadership. Promote positive safety behaviors, reinforce standards, and guide teams on legislative and internal safety requirements. Assist management in reviewing Health and Safety Improvement Plan objectives, identifying key areas for improvement, and developing targeted action plans. Track and analyze safety and training KPIs to support data-driven decision-making. Develop and support safe work processes for operational, maintenance, and manufacturing activities, with a particular focus on high-risk tasks. Source and recommend safety products that are effective, consistent, and financially responsible. Manage safety documentation in platforms such as iCare and Avetta, ensuring accurate and compliant tracking of investigations, training, and contractor records. Organize and conduct health and safety audits (e.g., COR, internal), follow up on audit findings, and assist in overcoming barriers to completion. Lead or support workplace incident investigations and ensure appropriate documentation and follow-up actions. Partner with HR and site management to facilitate early and safe return-to-work programs, including accommodations and modified duties. Complete required reporting for Mines or WorkSafe BC. Provide expert guidance on OH&S legislation and Amrize’s safety standards. Foster strong, proactive relationships with site management, employees, local authorities, and regulatory bodies. Participate actively in the Joint Health and Safety Committee and external safety communications. Contribute to the development and monitoring of industrial hygiene initiatives addressing exposure risks such as respirable crystalline silica, dust, asbestos, noise, and heat stress, ensuring workplace health hazards are effectively managed. Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviors. What We’re Looking For Education: Diploma / Certificate Field of Study Preferred: Health and Safety Required Work Experience: 5 years of experience in an industrial or manufacturing setting, with at least 3 years spent in a health and safety role Required Training/Certifications: NCSO/CRST (preferred). Must have class 5 driver's license. Required Technical Skills: MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Publisher, etc.), Google Workspace, iCare, SAP Travel Requirements: 20% Additional Requirements Solid knowledge of applicable provincial WorkSafe regulations and occupational health and safety practices. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships and communicate effectively across all levels of the organization. Ability to influence others and foster collaboration in a diverse work environment. Mature, professional attitude with the ability to work independently and with minimal supervision. Self-motivated and proactive, demonstrating a strong sense of initiative and ownership. High level of discretion in handling confidential and sensitive information. Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
