Job Description What You’ll Do: Reporting to the Manager, Learning and Development, you’ll play a key role in transforming how learning is delivered and experienced across the organization. By enhancing learning opportunities and programs, this consultant shapes and supports the employee development journey, aligning curricula and tools with performance-focused, business-driven goals. Serving as a trusted advisor to leaders and project managers, the consultant assesses team learning needs and delivers impactful learning through diverse formats, including classroom sessions, digital platforms, and e-learning modules. The core parts of your role will be to: Learning Management System and Digital E-learning Program Oversee administration of the Learning Management System (LMS), LinkedIn Learning, and the digital e-learning program, including user account management, content development, and ensuring governance and best practices. Ensures expertise of platform advancements, maintenance and evolution. Serve as a Learning Business Partner and Consultant for new internal OGC projects, assessing learning impacts, determining requirements, and designing digital e-learning content. Lead as the Principal Designer and content creator for enterprise-wide learning programs (e-learning, web-based, and in-class curricula). Media and Instructional Designer: Create engaging videos, e-learning modules, and PowerPoint training materials for enterprise-wide or department-specific projects, supporting in-class, virtual, and e-learning formats. Apply adult learning theories and instructional design best practices to ensure alignment with objectives and effective learning experiences. Develop content with clear, measurable outcomes and assess training program success and impact. Manage content development and delivery, ensuring deadlines, identifying risks, engaging resources and SMEs, and clearly communicating with stakeholders. Relationship management Partner with internal departments and external vendors on learning initiatives for new business processes and digital e-learning development. Collaborate with project teams to resolve any learning-related issues. Partner with OL&D Manager, Talent for employee onboarding, leadership development initiatives and LMS maintenance. Work with Communications on enterprise learning enrollments and project rollouts to ensure OGC brand alignment. Coordinate scheduling of learning initiatives for call center employees with Workforce Management. Learning Consultation Engage clients to understand and analyze their learning needs and objectives. Conduct thorough needs analysis to support clients in achieving goals. Present tailored learning strategies and solutions to internal clients. Evaluate existing learning programs to identify barriers to success, such as skill gaps or resistance to new tools. Provide expert recommendations on the most effective delivery methods (in-person, e-learning, micro-learning, etc.). Learning Project Management Oversee learning execution for small to midsized implementations and departmental learning needs. Develop and manage learning content to meet project deadlines, incorporating stakeholder feedback. Collaborate with departments and project teams to confirm delivery timelines and requirements. Ensure completion of tasks, availability of resources, and resolution of roadblocks. Communicate project learning accomplishments, critical tasks, and issues to internal teams and leadership as needed. Other Use feedback tools to assess curriculum effectiveness, report findings, and align training outcomes with business objectives. Adjust course content based on trainee feedback from surveys and reports. Coordinate with Facilities, TE, and access needs, resolving technical issues for seamless learning delivery. Mentor team members on best practices, promoting learning and development excellence. Advocate for improved learning methods to increase efficiencies, recommending and implementing process changes. Provide Train-the-Trainer support and facilitate sessions as required. Occasionally provide back-up for Learning Specialist class facilitation. Qualifications Let’s Talk About You: This is the unique blend of skills and experience we would love to see in an ideal candidate: A college diploma/post-secondary education or completion of a Trainer or Adult Education program. A minimum of 5-10 years’ learning experience. Previous experience with digital e-learning design and LMS software. Strong business judgment with a focus on service excellence. Proven ability to build strong client relationships and relationship management skills. Exceptional ability to present information in a formal setting. Demonstrated negotiation and analytical skills with the ability to recognize implications of issues and solutions. Strong conceptual skills and the ability to exercise flexibility and judgment in a dynamic, ever-changing environment. Planning and project management skills with a proven ability to execute large/complex projects with tight timeframes. Ability to motivate and negotiate to ensure that projects are delivered within the three key measurable targets: time, cost, and quality. Active listening and ability to think on your feet. High energy, motivated, creative, enthusiastic individual. Excellent knowledge and understanding of the insurance industry. Outstanding verbal and written communication skills. Asset: Group and/or individual insurance experience Project Management Experience Insurance related courses such as LOMA, RIBO, HIAA and CEBS will be considered an asset.
