Continuing our growth trajectory from startup days, EarthLabs is excited to expand its team and is currently seeking a dynamic and talented Video Editor to join us. ABOUT THE ROLE As a Video Editor, you will play a crucial role in transforming raw footage into polished, engaging content for various platforms. You will edit a diverse range of videos, including short-form content for social media, podcasts, business interviews, and long-form discussions (See examples: https://www.youtube.com/user/ceocafilm/videos and https://www.youtube.com/@miningdotcom). Working closely with the production team and across departments, you’ll ensure that each video aligns with our brand’s standards and is delivered on time. Quick turnarounds, often same-day or next-day delivery, are essential, given your management of multiple projects per day while maintaining the highest quality. This is an on-site, permanent position based in Toronto, Ontario. Edit Video Footage: Edit a wide range of video content, from short-form social videos and podcasts to business reports, interviews, and long-form discussions. Ensure Quick Turnaround: Manage multiple daily editing projects and deliver high-quality work on time, without compromising on quality. Collaborate with Teams: Collaborate with the production team and managers to align on project goals and maintain brand consistency. Follow Brand Guidelines: Apply established visual and editorial guidelines to ensure a consistent, professional look across all content. Enhance Storytelling: Add and refine effects, sound design, and colour correction to enhance the narrative and improve viewer engagement. Manage Content Library: Organize and maintain an up-to-date digital content library, ensuring assets are properly tagged and easily retrievable. Stay Updated: Stay current on video content trends, tools, and techniques to continually enhance production quality. Ad Hoc Tasks: Undertake additional ad hoc assignments and duties as assigned. Experience: 5+ years of proven experience as a video editor, with a portfolio demonstrating proficiency in both short-form and long-form content. Education: Post-secondary in media production, communications, or a related field is an asset. Software Proficiency: Expertise in Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, and/or Avid Media Composer. Experience with After Effects and other motion graphics tools is a plus. Attention to Detail: Exceptional eye for detail and the ability to produce polished, professional videos. Soft Skills: Strong time management, organizational skills, interpersonal and communication skills to effectively manage multiple assignments in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.
