**Job Description**:
**On being a Video Editor (Cinematics) at Ubisoft Toronto**

The Video Editor on the Cinematics team acts as the hub for the entire post-production process. Working with the Narrative, Performance Capture, Animation, Camera, Visual Effects, and Audio teams, the Video Editor’s job is to execute the Director’s vision for the cinematic scenes in AAA titles.

During pre-production, the Video Editor builds mood videos, ripomatics, previz, and storyboards to assist the Narrative team and the Director in locking down the story, script and blocking. During production, the Video Editor assembles the on-set Performance Capture footage into an edit that, once approved, will be packaged with critical information so the Animation team can rebuild the scene in game. As Animation progresses, the Video Editor maintains constant communication with all production teams to answer any questions that might come up. Towards the end of the project, the Video Editor might also be responsible for receiving final renders and outputting the final video files to be played in the game.

The Video Editor might also be assigned to multiple projects at once, and side projects like behind-the-scenes shoots or project update videos occasionally come up, so organization, time-management, and communication skills are extremely valuable.
