Under the supervision of the Directorof Information Services, The SIKU Coordinator will be responsible forcoordinating and organizing outreach initiatives on data collection andgathering within the application-based platform. The SIKU coordinator willprovide demonstration on how to use application and data entry from users. TheSIKU coordinator will provide community information sessions to Mushkegowukmembers through various lines of communications.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Post-secondary studies in Indigenous Studies, Earth Sciences, Environment, Conservation Biology, Lanscape Ecology, or related field
  • Passionateabout community-driven initiatives, Indigenous self-determination, diversityand equity in environmental stewardship and linking scientific research andIndigenous Knowledge
  • Experienceproviding technical support to others with varying skill levels, both onsiteand remotely.
  • Workingknowledge of GIS is an asset
  • Good timemanagement skills, and the ability to plan, prioritize, and work with minimalsupervision.
  • Excellentcommunication skills, including the ability to write, articulate, patience andengagement
  • Stronginterpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to work effectively in a remote,cross‐cultural and interdisciplinary work environment.
  • Willingness to travel to Mushkegowuk First Nations
  • Knowledge ofthe culture of First Nations, along with an understanding of their aspirations,socio-economic needs, stewardship values, and history
