Job Responsibilities Product Sourcing & Purchasing: Research, source, and purchase high-quality products and materials, ensuring timely delivery at competitive prices. Supplier Management: Develop and maintain strong relationships with vendors and suppliers, negotiating pricing, terms, and delivery schedules. Inventory Management: Work closely with key stakeholders including Production, Maintenance and Operations teams to maintain optimal stock levels, ensuring product availability and minimizing excess inventory. Market Analysis: Continuously monitor market trends and industry changes, identifying new suppliers or cost-saving opportunities. Order Management: Create purchase orders, monitor order status, and follow up with suppliers to ensure timely delivery. Cost Control: Review supplier invoices, analyze pricing trends, and collaborate with finance to ensure that budget guidelines are adhered to. Quality Assurance: Ensure that products meet company quality standards and resolve any issues with defective or non-conforming goods. Reporting & Documentation: Maintain accurate records of purchases, vendor communications, and inventory levels; prepare purchasing reports for management. Receiving and issuing parts and cycle counting to maintain optimal stock levels, ensuring product availability and minimizing excess inventory. Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Logistics, or a related field preferred. Minimum of 2-5 years in a purchasing, procurement or warehouse supervisory role. Experience in steel or heavy manufacturing is a plus. Willingness to travel at least 2-3 quarterly to other sites. Strong negotiation and communication skills. Excellent organizational and time management abilities. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint). Experience with purchasing software or enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems (Oracle or SAP) is a plus. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently. Ability to build and maintain relationships with suppliers and internal teams. Analytical mindset with an understanding of financial metrics related to purchasing.
