This role ensures machinery, equipment, and electrical systems operate safely, efficiently, and reliably. The ideal candidate is a highly skilled professional with expertise in both mechanical and electrical disciplines, capable of working independently or as part of a maintenance team.Key ResponsibilitiesMechanical (Millwright) DutiesInstall, assemble, and align machinery and mechanical systems according to blueprints and specificationsPerform preventative maintenance, inspections, and repairs on industrial equipmentTroubleshoot mechanical issues, diagnose problems, and implement solutions promptlyFabricate, modify, and repair machine components as neededOperate hoisting and lifting equipment safely during installations or repairsElectrical DutiesInstall, maintain, and repair electrical systems, wiring, lighting, motors, and control systemsTroubleshoot and diagnose electrical problems, including machinery and building systemsRead and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical manualsPerform preventative maintenance on electrical equipment to minimize downtimeGeneral ResponsibilitiesCollaborate with other maintenance personnel and departments to ensure minimal production downtimeMaintain accurate records of mechanical and electrical work completedEnsure all work follows company safety policies, regulatory standards, and local codesMentor apprentices or junior tradespeople as requiredComply with all Health & Safety policies, procedures and PPE requirementsQualificationsJourneyman (Red Seal) Millwright / Journeyman Electrician certification – dual certifications considered an assetMinimum of 3 years of experience in industrial or manufacturing maintenanceStrong knowledge of mechanical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, industrial machinery, electrical systems, controls, motors and PLCAbility to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawingsProficient with hand tools, power tools, precision measuring instruments, and electrical testing equipmentExcellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and strong teamwork abilitiesPhysical ability to lift, climb, and work in confined spaces when necessaryWorking ConditionsWork primarily in industrial, manufacturing, or commercial environmentsMay require overtime, shift work, or on-call availabilityExposure to noise, dust, heavy machinery, electrical hazards, and variable temperaturesKnowledge of Occupational Health & Safety regulations and emergency proceduresValid Arial Work Platform Safety Training certificate considered an assetValid Fall Protection certificate and Forklift certificate considered an assetBenefitsExtended health care, drug, dental, and vision care benefitsLife and Dependent Life InsuranceEmployee assistance programFree on-site parkingCompetitive vacation and paid time off program$1.20 shift premium paid when scheduled on the afternoon shiftDiscounts on productsCornerstone Building Brands is committed to an inclusive, equitable, and accessible workplace.
