We are seeking a meticulous and proactive Charge Entry & Reconciliation Specialist to support accurate data entry and validation of hospital and clinic charge sets, late charges, and patient credit adjustments. This role plays a critical part in ensuring timely filing, revenue integrity, and compliance with payer and organizational standards. The specialist will also assist in generating patient-facing-price estimates for private pay and underinsured individuals, supporting transparency and financial planning. Key Responsibilities Enter and validate charge sets for hospital and clinic services across multiple departments and specialties Review and reconcile late charges to ensure timely submission and minimize revenue loss Process credit adjustments and patient refunds in accordance with internal policies and payer guidelines Generate accurate, patient-friendly price estimates for private pay and underinsured patients based on service codes, fee schedules, and coverage details Collaborate with coding, billing, and clinical teams to resolve discrepancies and clarify documentation Track and elevate missing or delayed charges Support backlog cleanup efforts and timely filing prioritization Maintain documentation of workflows, charge logic, and reconciliation protocols Ensure compliance with HIP AA, CMS, and internal audit standards Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree or healthcare certification preferred 1-2 years of experience in charge entry, billing, or revenue cycle operations (hospital or clinic setting) Familiarity charge capture workflows Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities in a deadline-driven environment Preferred Skills Experience with charge reconciliation and audit processes Strong understanding of medical billing, charge codes, and payer-specific rules Knowledge of timely filing limits, credit adjustment protocols, and patient estimate tools Proficiency in Excel, SmaitTexts, and workflow documentation tools Strong communication skills for cross-functional collaboration and patient-facing estimate support Prairie Lakes Healthcare System offers comprehensive benefits for qualifying full-time and part-time employees.
