Reports to and works under the direction of the Human Resources Manager - Support Staff. The Human Resources Coordinator provides administrative support to a wide variety of Human Resources functions and initiatives which are often confidential in nature.
QUALIFICATIONS:Successful completion of a secondary school graduation program or equivalent, plus a minimum 12 months post-secondary secretarial/office administration courses. Four years recent related and relevant administrative experience including at least one year in a Human Resources environment, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Proficiency using a variety of software and other computer applications, including Microsoft Word and Excel, websites, and e-mail; experience with on-line benefits enrolment systems is an asset. Knowledge of basic accounting principles is an asset along with the ability to work quickly and accurately with figures. Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills. Ability to use judgment and tact when providing information. Proven ability to maintain high levels of confidentiality. Ability to use initiative and set priorities. Ability to work independently with a minimum of supervision. Ability to handle a high volume of detailed administrative work quickly and accurately. Ability to set priorities and to meet deadlines while handling a high volume of interruptions. Ability to operate and troubleshoot a variety of office equipment. Physically capable of performing the duties of the position. Knowledge of WCB and WHMIS regulations. Safe work practices.
