Overview The Neuro Rehab programs include the Early Supported Discharge team and the Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation clinics, supporting a population with stroke, brain injury, spinal cord injury, or other neurological conditions. Reporting to the Unit Manager, the Therapy Assistant works within an inter-professional team to assess and provide treatment to achieve rehabilitation goals in their therapy area. The Early Supported Discharge Team connects with allied health and nursing staff, coordinators, and physicians along the continuum of care. Responsibilities Work individually and as part of an interprofessional team under the assignment, monitoring and evaluation of an audiologist, occupational therapist, physiotherapist, recreation therapist, or speech-language pathologist. Contribute to effective and efficient rehabilitation services, including direct and indirect client care across the health care continuum (healthy living, getting better, living with illness and disability, end of life care) for all ages and non-client service provision. Collaborate with internal and external partners, maintain professionalism and ethics in client-centered care and team participation. Demonstrate reflective thinking and lifelong learning to enhance individual and team competency. Contribute to quality improvement, program planning, and student supervision. Able to provide timely information to the professionals assigning therapy tasks and/or service components. Physically able to perform all assigned tasks. Please attach a resume and cover letter with your application to ensure skills and qualifications are considered. Preferred Qualifications: Minimum 1 year of experience in adult neuro rehabilitation within the last 5 years.
