Troubleshoot and resolve instrumentation, electrical, PLC, HMI, and communication issues in both development and field environments. Contribute to architecture design, cybersecurity strategy, and system optimization for high‑availability performance. Participate in field commissioning, client reviews, and system handover to ensure quality and reliability. Document configurations, logic, and integration standards for long‑term maintainability. Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior engineers and technologists. Qualifications & Experience 5+ years of experience in systems integration, industrial automation, or process control. Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving abilities for PLC, HMI, and SCADA systems. Expertise in Rockwell Automation PlantPAx and Emerson DeltaV platforms. Experience with Ignition SCADA, FactoryTalk, or similar industrial control software. Familiarity with ABB 800xA and Honeywell Experion systems considered a strong asset. Solid understanding of industrial communication protocols (EtherNet/IP, Modbus TCP, OPC UA, MQTT). Proficiency in system administration, virtualization, and industrial cybersecurity best practices. Strong foundation in control system design, standards, and documentation. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills in a team‑oriented environment. Experience with autonomous or semi‑autonomous system development is an advantage. Education Diploma in Instrumentation and Control Technology or Electrical Engineering Technology, or Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Process Engineering, or Robotics/Mechatronics Engineering. Experience in the mining, manufacturing, or heavy industrial sectors preferred. Eligibility & Location Position based in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, with hybrid work flexibility. Weekly travel to client sites in the Saskatoon area is required. Preference will be given to local candidates currently residing in or near Saskatoon. Relocation support may be provided for the right candidate with strong technical and cultural fit. Candidates must be Canadian citizens or permanent residents legally eligible to work in Canada. Compensation Hourly Rate: $60–$75 per hour (based on experience and qualifications) Annual Equivalent: Approximately $125,000–$156,000 CAD per year Comprehensive benefits package, including health, dental, and life insurance Flexible work arrangements and family‑focused scheduling Why Join Shockwave Automation At Shockwave Automation, family comes first — always.
