Detailed Overview

Supporting the Vision, Values, Purpose and Commitments of Fraser Health including service delivery that is centered around patients/clients/residents and families:

Responsible for providing leadership, direction and supervision to the Employee Experience - Systems and Reporting department at Fraser Health. Oversees all development, implementation, maintenance and evaluation of Employee Experience information systems and applications. Ensures data integrity, systems and process compliance by establishing and enforcing data management practice.


Responsibilities

  1. Oversees all developments and maintenance of information system & applications in Employee Experience. Implements changes and development of data systems based on long term vision, road map, and goals of Employee Experience. and Fraser Health by working with end-users and operational leaders to review applications, identify needs, determine costs and provide recommendations to the Director.
  2. Oversees project timelines on information system developments from IM/IT and external vendors to ensure business and analytics requirements are met.
  3. Recruits, trains and manages assigned staff; conducts performance reviews, disciplines and terminates staff, as appropriate. Oversees an assigned budget for the department by ensuring effective use of resources.
  4. Develops consolidated reports (e.g. SQL, Meditech, etc.) that integrates information from all Employee Experience.systems; monitors and analyzes information reports, dashboard and data systems; discovers ways of enhancing (new technologies, upgrades) by evaluating systems performance.
  5. Assists with reports and data extraction when requested.
  6. Ensures systems and process compliance by creating and enforcing data management practice and information governance concepts amongst Employee Experience. information system users (i.e. identifies source of truth, documentation and updates information system map, etc.); establishes rules, practices and procedures for data sharing within and outside of Employee Experience.; ensures data are protected from security breaches and data losses; advises on changes to system, data auditing and data input processes.
  7. Ensures data integrity by formulating techniques for quality data collection, processing and storage; ensures adequacy, accuracy and legitimacy of data.
  8. Works in collaboration withLeader of People Analytics to implement sound data management practice and information governance model across Employee Experience. and the organization.

Qualifications

Education and Experience

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Health Information Systems or a related field, plus seven (7) years' recent related experience in a large sized organization working with computerized health information systems, including two (2) years' experience in a supervisory/leadership role or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills.
  • Ability to synthesize data, metrics and analysis across different functions of Human Resources, multiple systems, internal and external sources and integrate into a holistic, actionable direction.
