We need talented, passionate professionals who are dedicated to doing what’s right for our clients.What You’ll Be DoingThe Capital Markets Accounting Team is responsible for the integrity and timeliness of the Capital Markets business units’ accounting and financial reporting. Reporting to the Senior Manager of Capital Markets Accounting, the Senior Financial Analyst ensures the accuracy and validity of reported financial results for the supported Capital Markets line of business, in compliance with required accounting and control standards. The analyst plays an active role in transformational finance activities and supports the related capital markets business on special projects and strategic initiatives. The analyst works with front office, CFO team, finance product control and various infrastructure groups (operations, risk, technology) to ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial results for the business line under monitor.How You’ll SucceedAccounting and Controls – Drive accurate, complete, and timely inputs to reporting groups. Provide account attestation and ensure all balance sheet accounts are substantiated. Inspire adherence to timing in service level agreements and support investigation and analysis of different methodologies by liaising with the front office, the CFO group, accounting policy, external reporting and operations.Relationship Management – Communicate, collaborate and build relationships with finance, front office and other capital markets stakeholder groups.Agility – Support agile accounting processes and controls to ensure timeliness and accuracy. Implement changes in accounting policies and requirements in a controlled manner. Maintain end-to-end process maps and detailed task manuals in accordance with best practices, regulatory requirements, SOX and internal controls.Who You AreYou understand that success is in the details. You have current accreditation and good standing in CPA or working towards your CPA designation. The CFA designation is an asset.You have a minimum of 3+ years of accounting experience, ideally focused on capital markets accounting, to support oversight and governance functions. You possess advanced proficiency in MS Excel and knowledge of derivative instruments. You have strong knowledge of IFRS and financial reporting requirements for financial instruments and an understanding of interest rate products, customized bonds, money markets, cross currency products, equity‑linked derivatives, swaps, forwards, options, futures and other vanilla and non‑standard derivative transactions. Public accounting firm experience and automation tools such as Alteryx or Tableau are a strong asset.You embrace and champion change continuously evolve your thinking and the way you work to deliver your best.You give meaning to data.
