Reporting to the Chief Information Officer, the Director of Cybersecurity is responsible for leading and managing the organization’s cybersecurity strategy, architecture, policy development, and operational activities. This role is integral in ensuring the security of the company’s information assets, networks, and systems, while ensuring compliance with cybersecurity frameworks such as Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) and National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) frameworks.

Main Responsibilities:

Cybersecurity Policy Development & Architecture:

  • Develop and implement cybersecurity policies and standards.
  • Align policies and controls with risk management and compliance objectives.
  • Collaborate for policy communication and enforcement across the company.
  • Lead cybersecurity governance and audits.
  • Lead the architecture of cybersecurity solutions that leverage state-of-the-art techniques and technologies.
  • Perform threat modeling against vulnerability assessments and implement cybersecurity risk mitigation measures.

Cybersecurity Operations & Incident Response:

  • Oversee cybersecurity operations, including monitoring, alerting, and incident response.
  • Ensure rapid response processes are in place and post-incident analysis is conducted for continuous improvement.
  • Implement continuous monitoring and SIEM solutions.

Compliance with CMMC & NIST Standards:

  • Lead compliance efforts with select cybersecurity benchmarks such as CMMC, NIST 800-171.
  • Develop and execute a certification roadmap.
  • Conduct internal assessments and audits.
  • Serve as contact for external assessors.
  • Lead a cybersecurity function composed of external resources and partners.
  • Develop a comprehensive cybersecurity strategy and secure buy-in from executive leadership.
  • Represent organization in industry forums.
  • Manage cybersecurity budget.

Skills Profile and Minimum Qualifications:

Education/Experience/Certifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Security, or related field; Master’s and/or certifications (CISSP, CISM, CISA) preferred.
  • 8+ years in cybersecurity (policy development, architecture, operations, compliance).
  • Experience with government contracts or defense industry compliance would be an asset.

Other Qualifications:

  • Bilingual (English and French).
  • Hands-on with security technologies (firewalls, IDS/IPS, SIEM, endpoint protection, encryption).
