Department: Aquatics Availability: Monday to Sunday, various operational hours and holidays Position Type: Seasonal Reports To: Aquatic Supervisor Purpose The Aquatics Team Lead supports the daily operation of the aquatic attractions by providing in-park leadership, coaching aquatic staff, and ensuring a safe and enjoyable guest experience. This position actively supervises a designated zone of attractions, monitors performance standards, assists with training, and responds to incidents and operational concerns in real time. Key Responsibilities Provide daily direction to lifeguards and attendants within the assigned zone. Model professional conduct, guest service, scanning standards, and operational readiness. Assist with ongoing training and coaching, including skill refreshers , teaching proper procedures, and identifying performance concerns. Ensure guards are attentive, positioned correctly, rotating on time, and complying with safety standards and departmental expectations. Mentor new and returning staff to support confident and consistent performance . Identify hazards, crowding risks, behavior concerns, or operational problems and act immediately . Support the delivery of water safety messaging and guest engagement. Act as the lead responder within the zone during medical events or rescues until appropriate supervisory or advanced support arrives . Coordinate guard actions, guest management, and communication in accordance with park emergency procedures. Administer first aid within certification scope and complete accurate documentation. Escalate serious incidents immediately to the Aquatics Supervisor or Operations leadership. Assist in organizing and delivering in ‑ service training, skill drills, and onboarding sessions . Support compliance with relevant legislation including: Ontario Health Protection and Promotion Act Occupational Health and Safety Act Public Pools Act Amusement Devices Act Employment Standards Act AODA Conduct daily checks of stands, equipment, water attractions, slide interiors, and safety conditions. Complete logs and maintenance reports and elevate concerns that require follow up . Work cooperatively with Aquatics Supervisors, Operations leadership, First Aid, and other departments. Promote a positive, supportive team culture and assist with staff recognition initiatives. Perform additional responsibilities as needed to support safe and successful park operation . Required Qualifications Minimum 16 years of age. National Lifeguard Certification Standard First Aid + CPR Previous lifeguarding experience required; leadership experience preferred. Must meet physical requirements associated with National Lifeguard standards. Strong communication skills and professional guest service presence. Ability to lead calmly and confidently under pressure. Proficient with basic computer applications Experience lifeguarding in a waterpark or high ‑ volume aquatic setting is considered an asset Other Functions: All other duties that are assigned or necessary in order to support the Operations Department and the park as a whole.
