Freelance In-Person Event Specialist - Toronto, CanadaVisit.org is looking for an experienced, responsible, and driven Freelance Event Specialist in Toronto, Canada to help manage the logistics of an upcoming in-person event. The right candidate will have corporate event experience, an entrepreneurial spirit, passion for our mission, and the energy and discipline to thrive in a start-up tech environment.Who are we?Visit.org helps companies discover and book thousands of carefully curated social impact team experiences, led by and benefiting local nonprofits. With its proprietary library of team-based experiences across 90+ countries, Visit.org provides HR, CSR, and Meetings & Events leaders scalable, culturally appropriate content for purpose-driven employee and client engagement.Responsibilities:Coordinate all event details, ship event materials, and arrange staffing for each event. Be on-site as the day-of hands-on coordinator for engaging, team-building activities and events that support a great cause.Join virtual planning meetings ahead of each event with corporate partners, nonprofit partners, Visit.org event hosts, and other coordinators.Take ownership of in-person events: set up, align with the onsite team, tear down, clean areas, problem-solve, and ensure high-quality customer experience.Represent Visit.org as the on-site leader and problem solver at events; align roles with the onsite team, venue, staff, and partners.Manage check-in and provide a warm, friendly welcome to guests.Address issues such as missing supplies, late staff, or technology challenges; escalate to the Events Team when necessary and provide updates with photos and videos during the event.Handle breakdown after events and assist with packing, labeling, and shipping materials back to the distribution center.Pack supplies and apply shipping labels as needed.Requirements:Fluency in English and strong communication skills.Based in Toronto, Canada.Flexible schedule with availability to work per-event contracts as needed.Experience in complex, large-scale events and intimate executive-level events.Proven ability to execute events at a high level and continually enhance content and customer experience.Resourceful, calm under pressure, and solutions-minded in ambiguous situations.Quick thinker with backup planning and on-the-fly problem-solving abilities.Self-starter who is organized, detail-oriented, and enjoys building relationships with customers.Experience with group facilitation and managing group dynamics.Ability to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends, as needed.Willingness to travel within the local region as required.Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills, especially in fast-paced environments.Able to wear many hats and take on varied tasks and projects.Comfort being present and interacting with large crowds.Physical Demands: able to lift, slide, and carry up to 30 lbs; able to stand for extended periods.Benefits:Competitive hourly rate.Opportunity to do meaningful and impactful work.Chance to meet with social impact-minded individuals.Opportunity to build experience for your resume and potential recurring freelance employment with Visit.org. #J-18808-Ljbffr
