Creston is a great place to raise a family, start a hobby farm or step out of the rat race to enjoy a better work‑life balance Located only 11 km from the Idaho border, the region offers unlimited recreational resources: clear waters of Kootenay Lake, accessible skiing, state‑of‑the‑art 4‑season recreation centre, ball diamonds, skate board park, golf, hiking, biking and a 17,000‑acre RAMSAR Wildlife Management area home to rare and endangered species. Work The region has multiple family practice clinics offering a variety of in‑clinic services and opportunities to create a schedule that suits your needs and family. Clinics support Creston Valley Hospital (CVH), a 20‑bed acute care hospital with a 24‑hour emergency department and two long‑term care homes. All Creston GP’s provide routine clinical care within the practices and provide approximately 1:11 on‑call emergency services. Physicians with emergency medicine experience are encouraged to apply. Acute patient services at CVH include GP surgery, anesthesia, low‑risk obstetrics, inpatient services and dialysis. Local diagnostics are provided through laboratory services, imaging and ultrasound. Support departments at the hospital include pharmacy, dietary, physiotherapy and occupational therapy as well as other ancillary services. Enhanced skills in OBS appreciated, not required. Compensation Type: Fee-for-ServiceEstimated remuneration: $450,000+Physician overhead varies with clinicBilling split varies with clinic Benefits and Incentives Vacation leave as requested within group practice. May be eligible for additional remuneration in accordance with the Rural Subsidiary Agreement (RSA) including retention premium 16.66% retention flat fee $25,818 relocation funding available $9,000-$15,000 based on current location recruitment incentive $20,000.
