Garland Commercial Ranges is looking for a Category/Strategic Sourcing Manager I This position is responsible for developing strategies to deliver ongoing improvements in total cost for purchased commodities and goods within the assigned source category. Responsible for an annual spend of $50-60M with actively managing 15-20 strategic suppliers. A category management framework will be applied to create long-term, sustainable value for all Welbilt businesses with a focus on North America with a high level of collaboration with peers in EMEA and APAC. Reporting to the VP, Operations, this position is 100% based in-office at our Mississauga, Ontario facility. This is a full-time, permanent role that is a replacement to our headcount. Major Accountability Developing and managing assigned Category sourcing. Attainment of short-term cost targets and ongoing improvement of total spend. Ongoing collaboration with sourcing peers and partners to maximize efforts. Key Tasks & Responsibilities Develops and implements multi-year category strategies creating value for all key Welbilt stakeholders. Develops and executes specific annual total cost and supply chain improvement plans. Negotiates long-term supply agreements, inventory programs, commercial settlements and other types of agreements. Partners with key internal stakeholders to uncover, quantify, and highlight priority opportunities for category improvement. Ensures portfolio of the highest impact opportunities is being resourced by product lines and executive to deliver on SBP goals. Identifies and highlights strategic supplier for NP projects, working to close gaps in advance of project gates. Ensures success of NPI launches, outsourcing and supplier changes by ensuring all gate deliverables are in place. Partners with other team members and functions to build and improve necessary sourcing standard work. Leverages expertise by coaching and mentoring value stream sourcing, materials management, quality, engineering and other sourcing best practices. Qualifications Specialized Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities Experience in strategic sourcing or procurement management with up to $50M spend. Proficiency using formal strategic sourcing processes, category management, and supplier relationship management methods. Strong negotiating skills; excellent understanding of terms and conditions of development, supply and inventory agreements. Experience in best practices including category playbook, total cost of ownership, cost modeling, supplier relationship management, and stakeholder engagement. Knowledge of supply chain, logistics, and materials management principles and best practices. Demonstrated ability to influence all levels of staff and management without formal decision-making authority. Experience in global, multi-plant manufacturing organization with revenues of more than $1B. Preferred experience in industrial OEM, automotive, HVAC, or food service industry equipment. Education and Experience Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Supply Chain or related; MBA preferred; demonstrated progressive experience considered in lieu of degree. 4-7 years of experience in sourcing, procurement or related area Working Conditions Heavy computer use.
