Reporting to the Director, Official Languages, the Language Services and Programs Manager, will be responsible to monitor learning and testing gaps across the organization as it relates language and develop and deploy highly effective processes and multimodal learning programs to upskill the talent with languages knowledge and competencies.
The Language Services and Programs Manager will be responsible for contributing to the strategy and action plan for Language training and testing and implementing creative training modules and materials that aligned with the organization’s Linguistic goals.
Responsibilities:
Lead the gathering and translation of detailed business requirements from business to IT in order to implement new internal and employee-facing products for Languages team
Liaise with key stakeholders to prioritize and manage new digital initiatives, in alignment with corporate objectives
Build business relationships with key partners, both internally and externally, to implement innovative solutions that increase operational efficiencies, user experience, and accessibility
Build proof-of-concept apps using enterprise tools
Research and monitor technology or pedagogical advancements in the second language learning and EdTech industries to identify new business solutions
Represent Languages team at industry events
Guide the design of and communicate requirements for product increments on SharePoint, Saba, and other applications.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including HR Systems, UX/UI, Digital Enablement, Corporate Communications, Multimedia, and operations to deliver effective and consistent experiences
Perform project intake and develops necessary documentation (e.g., business requirements) to ensure alignment with Air Canada’s business and compliance requirements
Ensure that the team’s internal technological processes and services comply with community expectations and regulations for privacy, security, and pedagogical soundness.
Identify external trends and recognize best practices to increase bilingual capacity amongst the workforces.
Centralizing processes to develop learning material (e.g., scripts, text, graphics, audio, video, animation, gaming and multimedia) to increase Languages team system wide presence, in line with internal tone and style
Manage web content maintenance to ensure updated information and solutions are pushed out, ensuring users have the best available experience with resources and material
Provide 2nd tier support for Saba, eLang, as well as recommendations on process to capture new demands (e.g., new audience groups, new employee testing procedures)Participate in the evolution of the L&D design strategy by contributing ideas and suggesting improvements
Represent the business during the development life cycle and ongoing enhancements of key operational systems (ex. eLang) to ensure all necessary decisions are made; can make decisions or obtain sign off
Ensure high-quality rollouts by coordinating user acceptance testing and overseeing product implementations
Apply expertise in instructional design and adult learning principles to design, deliver, manage and evaluate learning and development programs using a variety of learning methods that appeal to various learning styles.
Qualifications
University degree in Education, Adult Education, social science or equivalent experience

5-8 years of experience in learning and development

About 3-5 years of experience in language training-/testing-related product development
About 3-5 years of experience in digital technologies

2+ years of experience in vendor/partner management

Experience in process and change management

Experience developing and executing learning strategies that meet department goals within budget and established timelines.

Excellent product management skills

Excellent problem-solving and collaboration skills, capable of liaising with stakeholders at various organizational levels

Must be available and willing to travel within Canada, when required
Conditions of Employment:
