Its services include Automation, Engineering, Project Management, and Validation.MMR Consulting has offices in Canada, USA, and Asia.This is an outstanding opportunity to join our growing team, where the successful candidate will work with a group of engineers and specialists involved in the engineering and project management of equipment, systems and facilities for life sciences facilities. This role is based out of Toronto, ON, Canada. Some travel to client sites is expected.This role is for a Junior Controls engineer to work on the automation of building/process controls systems.Previous building/process controls experience in the processing industries is required (i.e. Nuclear / Chemical Processing / Food / Life Sciences, Oil & Gas, Car Manufacturing etc.). Pharmaceutical industry experience is a major asset. MUST HAVE IGNITION experience. ResponsibilitiesProvide technical solutions into the design, commissioning and start-up of automation systems, for upgrades, renovations and expansions of client facilities and processes.Support project execution from Feasibility through to project completion/handover, including all project stages such as:FeasibilityConcept Design, Basic Design, Detailed DesignProcurementConstructionProject ManagementService/Support after handoverThe ideal candidate has experience with Siemens APOGEE Series Controllers, Allen Bradley (Rockwell) PLC and Ignition SCADA system, or similar platforms.Experience with Historians is a nice to have, but not mandatoryExperience with building/process controls in processing industries, utilities is required (i.e. chemical processing, utilities, mining, nuclear, life sciences, food, etc…), however experience in the Pharma industry is a major assetPrepare/perform/review electrical drawings, such as Panel Drawings, wiring diagrams, single line drawings.Perform program editing / configuration on PLCs, work with redundant systems, and SCADA systemsReview programming of equipment vendors and other automation firmsPerform automation / electrical troubleshooting on electrical panels and control systemsTravel may be occasionally required for meetings with clients, equipment fabrication vendors or Factory Acceptance Testing (FATs).Work may require occasional support over shutdowns or extended hours, specifically during installation and commissioning / validation phases.Client-management (maintain key Client relationships in support of business development and pursuit of new work), project scheduling/budgeting, coordination of client and MMR resources for effective project delivery, supporting business development (providing technical support to the sales as required for proposals/opportunities), presenting at industry conferences/publishing papers etc.Visit construction and installation sites.Supervise contractors during critical installations of process equipment and associated utilities.Other duties as assigned by client, and/or MMR, based on workload and project requirements.QualificationsExcellent written and spoken English is required including the preparation of technical documents in EnglishKnowledge of Rockwell based systems, Panelview; Network authentication experience for connection to the network etc.Ensure that automation scope is managed with vendors and internal departments.Years of experience: Minimum 5-10+ years of controls experience (we are flexible on either intermediate or senior level candidates)Ability to read electrical drawings, PLC code.Ability to perform programming/configuration of controllers and SCADA systems.Possess leadership skills, and be able to take initiative to lead projects, involving multiple stakeholders, departments, and varying complexity.Basic knowledge of AutoCAD is an asset.Knowledge of communication protocols Eth/IP, Modbus, Bacnet is an asset.Engineering degree, preferably in Electrical, Electromechanical, Controls, Chemical, Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.Salary range: 80,000$ -120,000$ based on experience.Send your resume to: recruitment@mmrengineering.comEqual Employment Opportunity and Reasonable AccommodationsMMR Consulting is an equal opportunity employer.
