As our Director of Finance, you will be responsible for maximizing the return on financial assets by establishing financial policies, procedures, controls, and reporting systems. You’ll also oversee Homewood Health Inc (HHI) cost and general accounting, accounts receivable/collection, and accounts payable.

This is a hybrid role enabling you to balance working from home and working in the office, in response to the demands of the business. h3>

  • Direct management of the Finance and Accounting department
  • Lead and ensure the delivery of strategic business initiatives and projects related to Finance and Accounting
  • Set operational plans for Finance and continuously evaluate and track outcomes to ensure best practices and efficiency
  • Implement and maintain finance and accounting policies and procedures, including but not limited to; audit controls for all areas of the finance department, financial accounting, and reporting
  • Oversight of the general ledger and annual audit
  • Provide consultation to senior leaders and department heads
  • Oversee the annual budget process working closely with the Executive Committee
  • Administer the organization's funds and manage cash flow according to the approved budget and monitor financial expenditures
  • Responsible for annual audit process and audited consolidated financial statements
  • Provide financial forecasting for expenditure trends that may have an immediate or long-term influence on the organization’s strategic goals
What you bring:
  • BA, MBA or CPA/CMA/CGA required
  • Strong leadership skills with proven ability to motivate teams and 8+ years in a senior finance/accounting role
  • 3+ years of direct people management
  • Experience in a high-volume, growth stage, medium to large multi-site organization required
  • Experience with Workforce Dimensions, Sage Accounting, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and MS Project
  • Proficiency in all aspects of corporate accounting and all pertinent GAAP rules and regulations
  • Demonstrated experience with budget preparation and management, auditing, and corporate tax provisions
  • Demonstrated ability to provide a high level of customer service
  • Effective managing multiple projects and working under time constraints, deadlines, and organizational demands
  • Experience with managing financial statements and the returns of a charitable foundation
  • Extensive knowledge of accounting systems, budgets, internal controls, business planning, and asset management
  • Attention to detail with sound analytical thinking, planning, prioritization, and execution skills
  • Past success in a healthcare and/or national-level industry preferred; experience with Hospital Reporting would be an asset
  • French language skills would be a strong asset but are not required
