As a strategic partner to the Sales, and Procurement departments, the Pricing Analyst will play a proactive role in developing, optimizing, and executing pricing strategies that enhance profitability, support business growth, and maintain competitiveness. This role is pivotal in translating market trends, cost dynamics, and customer insights into actionable pricing intelligence. The analyst will drive continuous improvement in pricing processes, strengthening ERP capabilities, and ensuring pricing data integrity and transparency across the organization. Key Responsibilities Strategic Pricing Leadership Partner cross-functionally to proactively identify pricing opportunities and risks, including cost fluctuations, customer sensitivities, and margin erosion. Monitor competitive pricing trends and lead the development of forward‑thinking pricing strategies that balance profitability with market positioning. Serve as a change agent in identifying process inefficiencies and recommending enhancements to improve responsiveness and accuracy in pricing decisions. Within the ERP, manage the pricing module and control any and all pricing changes. Collaborate daily with the Accounts Receivable Analyst and VP of Sales to address pricing updates on open sales orders and urgent price adjustments. Provide real‑time pricing insights and rapid turnaround on pricing decisions, empowering the VP of Sales and their team to close deals faster and more competitively. Work closely with Product Development and Sales to review blend formulations, identifying potential modifications that increase margin while maintaining product quality. Conduct weekly reviews with Procurement to stay ahead of material, labor, transportation, and overhead cost changes, and recommend timely pricing actions. Evaluate the impact of pricing strategies on customer relationships and long‑term value, providing insights that balance short‑term gain with strategic alignment. New Business Pricing Strategy Develop compelling, data‑driven pricing proposals for new customers and items, aligned with broader financial and strategic objectives. Develop pricing tools and tailored proposals that equip the VP of Sales with high‑impact, value‑based selling strategies to win new business and protect margins. Collaborate with the Sales team to provide transparent, flexible pricing models and tools that support business development and contract negotiations. Data Analysis, Reporting & Insight Development Analyze historical and current data to assess the effectiveness of pricing initiatives and recommend strategic adjustments based on performance. Build and maintain robust financial models that simulate various pricing scenarios, supporting agile decision‑making across departments. Collaborate proactively with sales to review sales contracts versus forecasts, identifying timing and opportunities to renegotiate or review new contracts with existing and potential customers to optimize revenue and align with market conditions. Ensure pricing and financial data is accurate, timely, and relevant—through rigorous data validation practices and ERP system improvements. Spearhead updating ERP system to review most up‑to‑date costs along with generating separate blend cost. Provide actionable insights to senior leadership that support revenue optimization and drive business planning. Communicate pricing rationale clearly and effectively to diverse internal stakeholders, enabling alignment and shared understanding. Proactively seek opportunities to streamline pricing processes, automate workflows, and reduce manual work. Foster strong relationships across all departments, creating an open flow of communication and insight‑sharing. Education and Experience Requirements Post‑secondary degree in finance, Economics, Business, or related field. Master’s degree or relevant certification (CFA, CMA) is advantageous. Experience as a Pricing Analyst or comparable role, preferably within the Food Manufacturing industry. Knowledge and Skills Requirements Strong financial acumen, with advanced skills in financial modeling, data analysis, and Excel. Exceptional analytical and problem‑solving capabilities, with attention to detail. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for productive collaboration with diverse teams. Capacity to manage multiple tasks, prioritize responsibilities, and meet deadlines. Ability to balance competing priorities and manage multiple tasks efficiently while meeting deadlines in a dual reporting environment. Ability to navigate and reconcile differing priorities between financial control and sales growth goals. Compensation Base Salary $65,000 - $75,000 range based on experience. Profit Sharing.
