What's in it for you?- Summer Analysts start the internship by completing a one-week training and orientation program.
- From May to August, in addition to on-the-job experience in your assigned business group, you will participate in professional development sessions and events throughout the summer.
- Beyond the on-the-job experience, you will have opportunities to network across various business groups, learn about BMO Capital Markets culture, participate in learning seminars, get feedback, and receive coaching and career guidance from mentors while broadening your skills.
- Upon successful completion of this internship, you may receive a full-time offer from BMO Capital Markets.
- You are a student at an accredited Canadian Post Secondary Institution/University, currently enrolled in an undergraduate program with a graduation date of December 2026 or Spring 2027.
- You are available to work full-time from May-August 2026.
- Proven track record of excellent academic standing, extracurricular participation, and demonstrated interest in finance.
- You are a Canadian citizen, permanent resident of Canada, or an individual who is legally authorized to work in Canada and will not require sponsorship in the future.

- Credit Analysis & Due Diligence: Complete due diligence and credit analysis on new and existing client relationships including determining product-specific risk and limit metrics.
- Risk Management: Monitor client and client industry for potential changes that may affect client's financial profile; check reporting covenants of borrowers to ensure there are no breaches.
- Materials Preparation: Prepare and recommend credit documentation for internal and external stakeholders.
- Professional Development: Learn BMO systems and processes; develop deeper industry knowledge specific to Global Markets' clients.
- Currently enrolled in an undergraduate business/accounting/finance program graduating in December 2026 or Spring 2027.
- Proven track record of excellent academic standing, extracurricular participation, and demonstrated interest in finance.
- Strong financial analysis and modeling skills.
- Proficient in Word/Excel/PowerPoint.
- Strong communication skills both written and verbal.
- Detail oriented and highly motivated.
- Knowledgeable in the principles of finance and the financial markets.
Please note the salary for this specific position is $90,000.
Pay Type: Salaried
BMO Financial Group's total compensation package will vary based on the pay type of the position and may include performance-based incentives, discretionary bonuses, as well as other perks and rewards.
