The core function of the Senior Manager, Capital Markets is to analyze and articulate Choice’s strategy and financial/operational performance to key stakeholders such as research analysts and investors. The successful candidate will be a key member of the strategic finance team and is responsible for financial modeling, industry benchmarking, peer competitive analysis and investor communications. This high-profile role reports to the AVP, Finance and will work closely with senior leadership and cross-functional teams including FP&A, Capital Markets, Accounting and Communications. p>

This is an excellent developmental role where the successful candidate will make connections and gain exposure across all aspects of our operations, will learn and anticipate how the financial markets react to financial and operational disclosures, and will work closely with the leadership team to prepare them to support with their interactions with investors and analysts.

  • Conduct competitive benchmarking and maintain close tracking of financial results and commentary of industry peers, building and maintaining financial models to track the performance of key competitors;
  • Support the ongoing development and implementation of a proactive IR strategy and plan that aligns with the company’s long-term financial and operational goals, recommending and implementing procedures to support an enhanced program;
  • Keep well-informed of company developments by building strong relationships within the company and support long range planning and financial modelling in partnership with the Corporate FP&A function, providing an investor and industry perspective on strategic planning;
  • Support the Corporate Accounting team during the quarterly earnings process with investor messaging that clearly articulates Choice’s strategy and financial results, including managing the conference call scripts and Q&A, press releases, investor presentations, financial reports, and website materials;
  • Track, manage, summarize and distribute research analyst reports, earnings estimates and compilation of analyst financial models;
  • Oversee the monitoring and analysis of market trends, competitive positioning, and investor sentiment, providing actionable insights to senior leadership on shifts in market perception, unit price performance and strategic recommendations;

Qualifications:

  • A degree in finance, or business-related field – MBA, CPA or CFA are preferred;
  • Superior analytical and project management skills;
  • Strong attention to detail matched with a high-quality standard for work product;
  • Experience in the areas of investment analysis, investor relations, corporate communications, product marketing, or competitive intelligence with a demonstrated understanding of business fundamentals, specifically in accounting, finance, or investor relations;
  • Knowledge and understanding of Canadian and International equity capital markets;
